Microwave replacement

In our 2017 44B our Whirlpool Microwave has failed. The same model is available through Lowes and we plan to replace it with the same model. If you have replaced yours, do you have any tips or comments ? [emoji16]

We replaced ours for a different model and it's not for the faint of heart. A direct swap shouldn't be a problem.

The hard part is aligining the rear of the unit on the drop-in bracket while holding the beast up in the front...usually a two-guy job. Getting the vent on correctly can be a bear as well.
Other than that, it's a no-brainer!

What little I can see, it looks like the vent is attached to the coach, and the Microwave simply sits up against the vent. Is there more to it than that ?

As far as the vent that’s pretty much it. I have swapped out three, two in Entegras and one in a fifth wheel. All of the ones I’ve replaced have been with a GE Advantium PSA 9120sfss, much better convection oven.
It’s not difficult if you have two people and as far as the Entegra change out there was no modification required.
It hooks in the back and Entegra puts in two bolts in front coming down from the top. There is accommodations for a third and I have installed the third bolt, can’t be too safe.

Most microwaves vent on top. The deflector plate needs to be change to vent out the rear to match the Entegra vent. House vent up, MH's vent out the side wall.

Thanks for the information folks ! After taking the microwave’s upper trim piece off, I was surprised to find a couple very dirty vent filters. I mention it only to let people know there are more filters than the metallic ones over the cooking surface.

We replaced our with a Kenmore Pro. I ended up putting a piece of wood on a jack when putting it in. Made it a lot easier for me since I didn’t have someone to help

Fellow Entegra owner VoltDoc, Rob Picchione has a great video on his You Tube channel giving step by step for upgrading to an Advantium and covers the install differences between the new and old.
Sorry, can’t seem to provide a link from my iPad...
