Middlebury pet friendly hotels/motels

This has been discussed numerous time but I can't find any of the threads.

We decided last night to turn our coach over on Tuesday morning and take it back Friday afternoon. Now we need a place to stay. I recall a recommendation for a Red Roof Inn, the nearest I can find is in Elkhart, 14 miles away. What are some other recommendations?

Thanks, Cliff!

We made tentative reservations at the Red Roof in Elkhart. $55 + tax ( old guy discount). No pet fee. It's 14 miles to Entegra but we don't plan to go there several times a day.

We have 175 pounds of dogs (90 and 85) and a small car, it's not good for them to spend the day in the car!

Good deal . At that rate you should get them their own room .

Those poor dogs are going to miss Rise N Rolls every morning, how mean. At least Shipshewana is close enough for take out for them

Hope your stay is a good one Vance, we really enjoy the area.

We stayed at the Red Roof on the east side of South Bend. Great for pets and close to everything. Walmart, Target, all restaurant franchises. Off of 331 a mile or so.

This morning's revelation is to sleep at Camp Entegra tonight and see how tomorrow goes.

We would miss the camaraderie. We are also much more comfortable in the coach than in a hotel. If being out and about with the dogs all day is bad we will move to a hotel Tuesday afternoon.

Please let us know if you find any dog friendly things to do on the area. We'll be there in August with our pack.

TXBart, we just left Entegra yesterday. Don't use the far west power post in the parking lot. We were plugged in there for about 4 hours when our Surge Guard starting tripping. Thinking it was something with the coach, I called CS. They asked where I was parked, which power post? I was told they have had problems with this post in the past. We moved across to the building side. Our coach is still there. I put a plastic bag over the post, but it's a gray Walmart bag and may be hard to see. Wish I'd had a yellow Dollar General bag, I would have used that.

Brian
There is a Dollar General on Hwy 20 just before the turn to Shipshewana

Vance, lots of room for the dogs in the Entegra yard and lots of open country in the area. If I am not mistaken I think dogs are allow in the Amish Flea Market in Shipshewana. Staying at Camp Entegra is 1/2 the fun of being there, lots of great people to meet and share ideas with.

We are enjoying our time at Camp Entegra. The earth morning turned out not to be an issue. Fresh/Gray/Black tank management gave us something new to worry about.

Brian - your a lot was empty when we pulled in but it had a plastic shopping back over it so be backed into a spot at the wall.

Worse part is how much our dogs have to sit in the car. Luckily it is fairly cool. They have a sign on the lounge that limits pets to 40 pounds. Leave our 90 pound pups out.

I heard that was going to happen at the Tampa rally. It seems a few people with large pets did not control them and they were scaring other guests and their small pets in the waiting area. Too bad that had to happen for those that control and have trained their pets.

Glad you are enjoying Camp Entegra

Thanks Vance. We will be returning to Camp Entegra sometime late tomorrow. Got a call this afternoon that they "think" they have solved our problem. I hope so, it's a long 11 hour drive.
