Mobley still not solved

We all are aware of the current Mobley issues. Mine times out ~every 15 minutes. I have tried everything, tethering it to an asus router, plugging it in with several usb adaptors, plugging it directly into an outlet. Nothing has solved it. After a long conversation with ZTE, they have determined that it's defective and instructed me to return it through AT&T. I sure hope they are right.

The only time it stays live, without interuption is when it is plugged into my Rams OBD2 port. SMH

Stay tuned. I will share the outcome with the board.

Just hung up with ZTE. According to the person I spoke to, this generation of Mobley is designed ONLY to work when plugged into a OBD2 port, and ONLY when the vehicle is on. Now, since I have no OBD 2 port in the coach it's useless. I have to make a trip to AT&T in order to shut my account off.

Another phone call to AT&T with some positive results. They are sending me a new, albeit different model hotspot.

Perhaps if you would have waited long enough for someone here to suggest a solution, like a pointing out a known good power adapter that works on the latest firmware with short timeout, we could have solved your problem.

I have tried everything including different adaptors, tethering to an asus, etc. Nothing has worked.

Can you tell us specifically which power adapters you have tried? You say you have tried a number of USB adapters, I would be very surprised if ANY USB adapter would supply the needed unstable voltage fluctuations that will keep a Mobley from going to sleep.

Not off hand, but about 6 of them. The latest one was a 5v 1a ipad adaptor

Just the correct MiFi device is all you need to do. Transfer the sim to it.

I bought a Netgear Aircard 815S

The point is all of those USB power adapters have highly stable voltage output, this is the opposite of what you need to power a Mobley not plugged into an OBDII port.

Would you like to make a suggestion?

Buddy, thank you for advising us the AT&T is sending a new devise. Please let us know what they replace a defective Mobley with. One of ours could go down at anytime as well.
