Modification of front AC temperature sensor

I know somewhere buried in the immense "modification thread", there are several ideas on how to isolate the front AC thermistor away from the wood wall so the thermistor actually senses the front coach temp rather than the front fibergalass and wood wall outside temperature. My memory is that there have been several easy, good mods to isolate that thermistor but can't find them. Can anyone give me the best strategy to resolve this problem?

Remove and use a short section of rubber tubing to stand off the sensor from the cabinet structure.

Gary,

If I remember correctly, Chuck was one of those who had a simple fix. However, I believe it was in a separate thread. I'm sure he will be around in a little while with his wisdom.

I believe most are insulating behind the sensor and spacing the sensor out so it reads room temperature.

I'll be watching as well, because at the moment my front sensor is just hanging by the wires.

When I went back to the factory in February one of the things I had them correct what is the temperature sensor. They put rubber standoffs and long screws as suggest. This made some improvements in the accuracy of the sensor but with sun on the side of the coach the sensor is still off by about 5
I am going to try a completely different approach by mounting the sensor just below the air return grill. In this position the sensor will measure the air temperature which is what it is trying to control. We'll keep you posted on results.

Ron, the sun on the side of the coach...I have used the front door awning in the out position with good success. The front temps sensor is almost right on, enough I can't tell in shirt sleeves. Did the factory seal the hole up with anything?

The awing only helps part of the day. The hole was filled with RTV caulk.I noticed on a factory tour, in the wall by the sensor there is a lot of aluminum structure that limits the amount of insulation that they can place inside the wall and also conducts heat to the inside wall panel.
