Mysterious Alarm Chirp.

On our 2017 Aspire, we typically unlock using the keypad in the door handle. When we first bought the coach, Voltdoc guided me to defeating the alarm chirps by turning off the DIP switch #6. Since then, we’ve had over 2 years of quiet operation.

Yesterday morning, I unlocked the coach with both the keypad and later the key fob, and each time the alarm gave a single quick honk.

Any ideas of what is happening? The DIP switches are still as desired.

Thanks

-Matt

Matt, might try the 12v power off reset.

Matt, just what Chuck said.

Ours did this this summer, and like you I had to check the DIP switches again, and they were still set to silent.

I did a reset, not sure if I did a full 12V reset or since I had the panel removed I might have powered down the controller itself.

Either way, it solved my issue.

Mine does a honk and then the usual chirp. It just started it one day and I asked on this forum what the honk meant, but never received a reply. It's still honking away. I have reset the 12 volt many times - I leave that switch off when parked in the lot.

I posted this back in 2016.

You can stop the chirp for both locking and unlocking the doors by holding the entry lock, entry unlock, and the right center"cargo unlock" buttons, all at the same time, on the remote. You will get a single chirp for muting the chirp or reverse the mute by holding the same buttons simultaneously and get a double chirp to reactive the chirp.

Thanks - but what does a honk mean? My Aspire never honked. My Anthem did not honk for the first 6 months, but now honks. I didn't knowingly change anything, and there is nothing about it in the manual for the locking system.

I had the "honk" issue. Removed power to the Trimark unit under the front tray to reset.

I had odd noises from time to time as well. Reset usually clears the issue. This requires removing power from the trimark unit directly. The salesman switch does not power the trimark (it's on chassis power not house power) so I've just been unplugging the power connector right at the trimark unit. This connector is clearly labeled on top of the trimark. Disconnect, wait 15 seconds or so, plug it back in. Hopefully that clears the glitch.

J.H. The Aspire has a different, more basic remote.

Rob, et.al. The 12V reset didn’t work, but removing power directly from the Trimark control module did the trick.

Even the Trimark tech expert didn’t know what to do.

I learned where to clear the 12v from as well. Would make sense the 12v would be on the chassis batteries. If you turned the salesman switch off, closed the door, you would lock yourself out without a key. Thanks for posting the fix.
