New Aspire Pantry?

Anyone know what Entegra made smaller when they added the pantry along side the fridge? I can't tell from the pictures. Thanks

I believe they shortened the PS sofa.

That is correct, the PS sofa went from two pop up footrests to 1 pop up footrest. I would say it's about one and a half average sized adults wide . You can see some photos of the new sofa in my factory tour pictures here - those shots of the new RBQ floorplan with the pantry are closer to the end of the album.

Actually saw one of the new pantries up at Lazy Days, Tucson last week. It serves the purpose but is very deep, narrow and does not have pull out shelves. We really, really like the DEQ floorplan with the L coach and TV right behind the driver's seat better. Not so hard on the neck to watch TV which we do watch a lot. I also noticed that the refrig on both models was the side-by-side not the French door one. We got ours in early Sept and have the French door refrig. Only issue with it in the DEQ is you have to be careful when pulling out the ice container to empty it or fill a cooler. It will touch the rubber gasket which covers the ice dispenser so use caution when removing the ice container.

As you seem interested in the floor plan, we move the Eurochair across the room next to the L-couch, thus we have the couch (left in, the passenger chair for DW and I...of course the Old Dominion Rescue Boston Terrier owns the couch (as well my side of the bed unless I get aggressive).

The Euro turned out to be much more comfortable than anticipated, with one of the footstools as I'm too long for the leg rest.

The DEQ floor plan is a winner. Now, when they come out with the 1.5 bath DEQ and it doesn't take up any living space, we're probably in trouble.

Just dawned on me too after looking at some photos with/without the new pantry that the window over the PS sofa got smaller in width as did the cabinets overhead. So that means the "studs" in the wall framing had to be redistributed as well to fit the new window size.

I just stopped at Buffalo RV to check out the new Anthem they had there. Nice looking unit in all respects, but that pantry seems to be more of a pain than a pleasure. I have average length arms and I can't reach the back of the pantry. A pull out shelving unit would be a great addition in that pantry. Hopefully that will be something Entegra will take into consideration.

We looked at the new pantry and the impact on the sofa. Not sure they didn't make a mistake with a too small sofa and a hard to use pantry

Does the 44SL have that same pantry? I would be curious as to the impact it would have on the couches. Did it shorten the PS couch?

Not on the 44 SL. Still has the longest passenger side sofa offered. SL= Spacious Living! Nice hidden pantry behind salon T.V. with pull out plastic covered wire shelving with locking mechanism. Not sure if other models have that same pantry behind the television. But regardless, why couldn't that functionality have been applied to this new pantry?

Couldn't agree more. Those are two of the major reasons we went with the SL. We enjoy the extra "Spacious Living" area realizing that our preference for that over a bath and a half doesn't suit everyone. I was surprised when DW said she didn't really want the extra bath space but also really happy.

We have a "Coach Caddy" made by a friend that serves to hold junk while driving and then when parked has a removable top that converts it to a coffee table. It sits beside me when I drive and then we move it to wherever we want it.

As some have said, I really don't need the two sofas. in my dream, the DS sofa would be a Eurochair/Fireplace. We'd lose some storage, but then the current TV fireplace would be a hutch. FWIW the Tour has an interesting arrangement for a DS front TV - it isn't at a 45 degree - more like 22.5 so the view from the PS cockpit chair is easier to enjoy.

Also - that sliding pantry behind the TV is pretty cheesy although very functional. All that pretty woodwork and then you open the door to a metal pantry that looks out of place. Oh well - at least you don't see it when you close the door and as I said, it IS functional.

Currently shipping pantry now is a pullout with adjustable wood shelves. Photo is of an Aspire RBQ, but it's the same on the Anthem/Cornerstone in both floorplans that have the narrow pantry.

Rob, talked to Joyce today. She didn't say anything about the new pantry design. That would be great, much more user friendly. The wife is wanting one of those.
