New or Used

Hi everybody... New on the Entegra board... My wife and I after many years of 5th wheel in' it, are in he market for a nice motorhome... We started out looking at the Newmars and don't get me wrong, I really like them... But my wife really likes the Entegras... We have actually found a NEW 2015 Aspire... My question to you Entegra owners is, what is a fair price as far as a percentage of the MSRP? MSRP on this coach is about $360,000... Maybe 35% or 40%...? More? Less?

I do wonder why any NEW 2015's would be left on the lot...

We don't need new, but if not, I'd like one no older than maybe a 2013... Ideally I'd like to purchase one from a private owner... It's just my preferred way...

[Mod Edit]

We live in Reno Nevada...

Thanks

Back when we were buying in 2011 30% to 33% was generally obtainable with a bit of negotiating but that was off a new coach. A 2015 is now pretty well 2 years old. You could try rv.org I believe but it may cover only used coaches. I tend to think north of 45% would be appropriate but am no expert in this.

Call or go on line to National Indoor Rv in Atlanta. They had some good deals on leftover 15's not to long ago.

Also check out Motorhome specialist in Alvarado TX to get an idea of what the discount should be. It should being going up as the model is now 2 years old.

After researching the prices and if you come to terms, make the batteries part of the deal. If it has been on the lot for 2 years and the batteries allowed to go dead several time they are expensive to replace. Just for reference, I ordered mine new and the discount was 31.5%. 35% for a 2 year old coach is not a very good discount. My guess is there are some 16's on lots with those discounts. Enjoy the search.

I would personally prefer a more gently used high end coach!
Have fun shopping!

A used ENTEGRA is a great choice. We have traded to often & have had the coach just long enough to debug it, for the lucky new owner. Bonnie said the 17 is last one. Wish me luck. NIRVC - ANGIE IS THE BEST $$$$$

Get the one with the floor plan that works the best for you. More trades are made because of floor plan than any other reason IMO.

The way I read the post it is a brand new leftover 2015 on a dealers lot. It's not used and will have a full two year warranty the day it is driven off the lot. It would pay to call Angie at NIRVS and compare prices or have her give an honest price opinion.

Beaver Coach Sales in OR has a 2015 Cornerstone Fire B in the same situation that is discounted to only 32%. Just a comparison. Personally, I agree with you. I think they need to get in the 35% to 40% range to make a deal, especially given all the improvements on the new coaches and that the 2016's are now being discounted routinely to 32% to move them.

Remind the dealer that every day they keep it it is losing value at the same time that they are paying flooring. On an Aspire for 18 months that is probably in the 20 to 25K range. Flooring is part of doing business, and sometimes this happens, but their motivation on a coach this old should not be making money, it should be preventing further loss.

Edit: fixed my numbers

The 2015 coach has been sitting on the lot for a long time. I would be concerned with batteries. Most likely the have not been maintained properly and discharged to a very low voltage state too many time (people leaving stuff on when its not on shore power). Also check the date code on the tires. Most likely they are 3 years old, which is about half life of the tires.

2 things, your first thoughts about which Mfg. to go with far out weighs the idea of stepping down in quality. #2, if you have any interest in a nice used Anthem feel free to send me a PM.

I just traded in to ANGIE at NIRVC a 2014 Anthem DEQ for a 2016 Cornerstone.
It had 26000 Miles. Call Angie she may still have it.
