Title says it all. 2015 Aspire, 27,000 miles. Fortunately my NIRVC Extended Waranty covers this. It’s just a pain to have the rig back in the shop again. Looks like the first year saw 2 months of shop time.

Sorry to see this ... but the mileage is about right for the 2015 Entegra radiators to spring a leak. Hopefully your new one will be good to go for years to come.

Sorry John.... never good news. Glad that you dont have to pay for it, but would be interested to know if it was an original radiator or one of the new and improved radiators.

I don't know this as a fact, but there have been posts here on iRV2 that say you can have a new, custom, 100% brass or welded aluminum radiator constructed by a competent radiator shop custom made for you for less than the Spartan OEM replacement radiator. The general opinion is that this vintage radiator was failing because the connections are crimped/compressed aluminum fittings/junctions which loosen up and start to leak over time. I don't know if the cost of a custom radiator is really less or would be handled by your replacement policy, but thought I would bring it up as a possibility. IMHO, a 100% brass or welded aluminum radiator probably has a longer life span than the current process. Good luck. If you do look into this issue, I would really be interested in what you find.... insurance coverage, and cost of a custom radiator.

Gary, I would also agree that a custom built copper/brass radiator would be far superior. But in order for me to use my warranty I have to have it inspected by the warranty company and that has been scheduled by NIRVC at their facility. So for warranty reasons I will stay with Spartan.

But I’m intrigued too and may spend a while looking since I am not scheduled for replacement until I get back to Dallas early March. I’ll keep you posted if I find out anything.

I’m in the club also. I had mine replaced in September 2017, on a 2015 Anthem with 6,000 miles on it. I had it done at Fleet maintenance in Fort Walton Beach, Fl but I wouldn’t recommend them.

2015 Entegra Apire Radiator leak and replacement

I have the same Issue and removed the radiator today. I thought it could be repaired but the shop recommended a new one. Where is the best place to get a new one for my 2015 Entegra Aspire, or who can recommend a good place to get one built. Thanks Joe.

Anyone that had to pay out of pocket ever file a complaint with the NHTSA? This is a major problem Spartan should have to answer for, JMO. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/

That’s an interesting point. It appears that between 2014-2017 most Newmars were on FL chassis. A notable exception being the King Aire. From what I can tell, those years closely correspond to the years that you guys are reporting radiator issues.

I don’t think Newmar was clairvoyant on that point, it’s just a coincidence.

That venue is for filing safety complaints, and I don't think this is a safety issue. People are not having crashes because of their leaky radiators. I don't think this is in NHTSA's jurisdiction.

How can I visually determine if a MH has the problematic radiator?
