I just reviewed the procedure doc. They are replacing the marker lights with smaller footprint lights with a chrome plate underneath to cover up the holes. What a mickey mouse job! There has got to be a better way.

Thanks,

The lights I saw on the new models were standard Peterbuilt marker lights. Replacing with the reflective lights should not be a problem

TEST THE LIGHTS: Turn on the coach exterior lights, and all 8 lights should light up.
NOTE: The old intermediate marker light (in front of the rear wheels) doubled as a turn signal. These new marker lights will not function as turn signals, so that feature is lost.

I will have to look up the lighting requirements, but I thought once you hit a certain length you were required to have midship turn indicators.

I did too, however the Classics didn't have a light one that flashed on the sides and the original marker light hardly put out any light at all. Those were truly dangerous and surprised they ever passed DOT.

Don’t think I am going to put the recall on mine. That midship turn signal is way more valuable than having them reflective.

Uh ugly. Doesn't look like something I'm inclined to do. I'll have to look at other options.

So we lose the mid ship turn signal.
The rear add on lights will look like chicken lights.
Good move Entegra.

Per NHTSA
Vehicles 30ft or longer are required to have a Yellow Intermediate Side Marker Lamp & Reflector on each side near the center. There is nothing saying a turn signal indicator is required.
Personally I think the turn indicator is just as important as the reflector. So I guess the hunt now begins for side marker lights with both reflector and turn signal capabilities.

We have used these on our tank trucks and we go through dot roadside inspection occasionally.
Please note they are compliant. These are available in amber also. Sourced through local NAPA store.

Gene I coudn't agree more with you on that statement. One was so good, I added 5 more, what a difference in making lane changes.
