New Toad - 2017 Ford 150
Good morning, we're in the market for a new Toad and have zeroed in on the Ford 150 King Ranch. Does anyone know if the odometer turns over when towing? We're considering an extended service plan and they are mileage/year based. So the odometer is a consideration. Thank you!

No they do not. Make sure it's a 4 x4 with tow mode on it. No 2 wheel drives are towable. Ask me 60 k later on a 2016 f150 platinum.

Thank you. Yes we're purchasing a 4x4. Can't wait!! We've been towing a Jeep Liberty. The Ford 150 will give us more flexibility.

They are towable but have kind of a weird sequence to put into neutral. The Ram was the easiest I found

My 2017 King Ranch is easy to tow. Just turn the knob 5 times with tranny in neutral and foot on brake. Sign will come up tow mode enabled and you are ready to go. Simple as pie.

I will add this. Since mine has tailights with radar etc in them. I went with a under bumper light set up. Only works when connected to the RV. When I removed front tow hooks to install base plate I ran wiring thru the frame to the back. Worked great for hiding the wire. Then hooked up some LED lights
Works great. I normally Travel with tailgate down for motorcycle lift in bed. See pics

Curtis just came out with a wire harness that plugs into existing harness at each taillight. Installed it on my 16 ram... works great. Only works when plugged into motorhome.

What braking system did you go with for your F150? Are you pleased with it? Have really been drooling over the F150's for about a month! They are awesome in our opinion. Thanks for any inputs!

Is this with the 10 speed transmission? Looking at a Raptor - don't tell my wife.

The Raptor is a good choice is you don't want to tow or carry a metric ton of crap like I do.
Spending a month in Colorado has whet my appetite for another Jeep, but a fella next to us managed Engineer Pass in a mostly stock Raptor.
I'm going to probably install a 2-3" lift and get some better tires and wheels for off road, when we plan our next Colorado trip. Bone stock, our Platinum went everywhere we wanted to go.
The typical F-150 is super easy to tow, and a great daily driver.
Frankly, I regret getting the Platinum as I don't care for all the high tech gadgets.
If I were to do it again, I'd get a fully optioned XLT or Lariat and add leather as needed. $27K for an XLT, $50K+ for a Platinum.. not my best decision.

We love ours. Used diodes to tail lights, no problems. I recommend the AirForce 1 brakeing system with the Spartan kit which includes a ping tank. Just make sure it is properly installed. All JMHO

Gene, this cannot be stressed enough.
There are a ton of hacks out there, and this is an issue that is easily glossed over when setting up a toad is just one of many things that have to be done.
Chuck recommended a NSA Ready Brute Elite w/Ready Brake integrated.
Frankly, I believe this is the most bulletproof type of system available today.
