Newell Coach
Anybody on here have any experience with Newell coach. In particular the Cat C-15 engine and the ZF 12 speed transmission. I like the idea of the 12 speed for pulling.

Newell Coach
I have a friend with a Newell with a Cat C-15. He has engine trouble twice(towed) and the charge air cooler went out and had to be replaced. Don't know much else except he really likes it. It is a mid entry and he really likes the air door and other upgrades on the Newell but has been disappointed with the Cat engine and what Cat charges to work on it, far mor expensive to work on than a Cummins. He bought it used from Newell and got coach warranty but no drive train warranty. 🚌🚓

Cat is involved in multiple lawsuits over 2006-2009 C-15 & C-13 engines. I would recommend nothing newer than 2005 if you're looking at a large Cat engine. I had a C-12 in a work truck and it was a great engine, but that was before all the polution mess.

I would like the trans in our rig and something other than the blow up prone 2007 EPA ISX!
Might even be willing to trade for a Newell to get it.

E had a couple of C-12 Cats in 2003 OTR trucks and they all had bad cranks and got overhauled by cat at around 300k miles. After that (Mexican parts originally) overhaul they were great engines and got great mileage with very little trouble. Just my experience.

I just got a 2009 Newell with the Cat C15 and ZF 12 speed. Drove it from AZ to MI and really enjoyed both engine and transmission. Previously I had an Allison 6 speed with Cummins and definitely liked the 12 speed when climbing grades.

The Cat Engines involved in the Suit are 2007 and newer, my 2006 C15 Acert went 715,000 doing Heavy Haul before in frame, had a bad head gasket and didn't really need the rest done but did a Platinum in frame.

Strange questions for an Entegra forum...maybe the OP should ask the questions in the Class A forum...JMHO...and agree with Gary...price... and add for what you get for it!

Gee Dave I was wondering if I was the only one scratching my head as to why anyone would think that Entegra owners had a particular level of expertise on Newell coaches....Learn something every day.

I might think troll, but OP is relatively new, so that is why I suggested the Class A Motorhome forum. I didn't look in other SOB forums....maybe did same there.
