NIRVC Chip Clip Saves the Day

While driving in Texas and being blinded by the West sun, NIRVC's chip clip served as a perfect sun visor holder.

We attended the Entegra University last week. During the session with Entegra leadership I recommended that they make the bottom 6” of the drivers/passenger day shade solid versus the current day shade mesh material. Since the day shade is adjustable, making it solid would make a great sun shade for little or no cost since it could be raised or lowered. Hope they make the change in the future.

That would be a wonderful idea!

I've always used the opaque night shades when driving as sun visors on our Allegro Bus. Our Cornerstone didn't have the ability to control them when driving so I decided to make that happen. There are four mini rocker switches on the left side console that control the cockpit day shades. I just added four more to control the night shades. The actual shade controller is behind the black panel above the entry door so I ran 10 wires from that area, down through the windshield pillar trim and across the dash to the side console. I also put four switches in the overhead panel as well to allow individual control of the night shades in the evening. Now I can lower the day shade a bit to totally block any oncoming sunlight when driving.

In my classic, I choose not the raise the day shade all the way, as it can be a useful sun visor. As the day progresses, I simply raise the shade as need. My classic won't allow me to lower the shade while driving (only raise), so I have to remember to do this when we leave first thing in the morning.

All of my entegra would allow me to raise them with one push push. But I had to hold the button down to drop the day shade. I try to always be to where I'm going before I have to drive into the sun set. But yesterday we were coming home to Houston. And you have to come in later in the evening to avoid what traffic you can

Glad y'all made it home safely. Dan & I may come to Houston for a couple of days late November. If we do ... let's get together with y'all and Ron & Cheryl!

On our 2017 Cornerstone we can control every shade in the mh individually, including the cockpit night shades. If I think I'm going to need them to block the sun I start the mh before putting the day shades up, then run them up close to where they need to be. Once I start driving I can have the DW adjust them in the up position as needed. They will run up with ign. on just not down.
