Noisy leveling jacks
My prior coach had air leveling only so I have to learn/adapt to my new to me Aspire. One thing I note is the extremely loud noise when the jacks are going up or down. Sound like the whole coach is tearing apart.
I think I read in one of the threads that someone had noisy jacks that they found air in the lines which caused the noise. Not sure if that is what it is, but just how noisy should these jacks be? I know it’s relative, but are your jacks noisy when being used?
Switching coaches after full timing in one for 9 years brings a lot of learning and adapting with it.....

My HWH leveling system is quiet. The only sound I hear is the whine of the hydraulic pump and occasional creak as the body flexes. Perhaps something is lodged between the pump and the coach body.
Hope you find the problem soon.

This has been discussed before. Many have used an additive that I don’t recall right now that fixed the noise. Some one will post the solution here, just wait for it, sorry I don’t remember.

At one time the recommendation was to add Marvel Mystery oil to the hydraulic fluid after removing a like amount of hydraulic oil. Not sure if that is still being recommended. The jacks on my Anthem used to howl like a banshee. I remember wiping them down with a good silicone spray lubricant to quiet them down.

It has been a common problem with the Classics and there was just a long post on it a few months age. Here is what Entegra is doing and recommends.
1. drain a quart of fluid off. The reservoirs is behind the ABS panel in front of the batteries. A turkey baster from the $ store works to remove the fluid.
2. replace with a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil,. Others have used CAT oil at $35. a qt. your choice. Entegra uses Marvel Mystery Oil.
3. Cycle the jacks all the way up, then fully retract. Do this as least 3 times, but not all at one time, let the motor cool or the motor will burn out. Entegra learned that one the hard way on mine
The fix did not work on mine, the jack had bad seals and had to be changed. There were only a few that had the bad seal problem.

Thanks all. I have a Spartan Service in 3 weeks, would the seals (if needed) be under warranty? I’ll try the Marvel oil in any case.

That is a good question, I believe the Equalizers are installed by Entegra. I have worked with Equalized in the past and they were great to work with.

BTW, Equalize recommended WD40 on the rams to me, but that might be who you speak with there.

Same Problem
I had the same problem and they told me to add a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil to the reservoir. It did not change a thing. Took it back to Entegra and they set up an appointment with Equalizer and they flushed the system and refilled with Cat 3 oil. The whole time I was there at Equalizer having this done, all they talked about was how expensive the Cat fluid was. Since the flush and Cat fill I have not experienced the squealing.

Entegra told me at my PDI that the noise was normal.

Nice cover up. Mine screamed like a banshee when new. They are as quite as can be now. Prior to that, they caught everyone's attention in the campground.

Called Equalizer and they recommended adding a quart of Caterpillar Hydraulic Fluid Additive. FYI, that is their part number 1U-9891 and costs $35/quart. Went to the nearest Cat dealer and bought a quart.
Used silicone spray to wet down the hydraulic rams, added the Cat fluid as recommended (add half quart at road height, raise coach full up, add remainder, pull jacks up, and auto level) and noticed an immediate reduction in noise. Tomorrow we go get new steer tires so we’ll so how well it is working.
Thanks for all your inputs.

Looks like I'll be looking for some Cat Additive so I can quit serenading the neighbors while getting ready to depart.

Noisy leveling jacks
FWIW the jacks deployed and retracted quietly and smoothly. DW and I are happy campers with this. It was $35 well spent.
