Onan Exhaust Hanger

I noticed my generator exhaust pipe laying helplessly on the ground.

The pipe hanger support was toast. Most auto parts stores carry $4 universal hangers that will work with some modification - the hanger mount needs to be twisted 90 degrees so the clamp lines up with the pipe.

For the princely sum of $15 you can get the Genuine Article on Amazon.

Thanks for the post Bob. Can a universal one be twisted in a vise with a crescent wench to make work? I can see where the rubber might rot on the Onan mount. I need to look at mine more closely. Thanks for the heads up.

A $5.00 Yankee radiator hose clamp works very well on mine!
Just make sure there is enough slack to allow the pipe to pivot when the Onan slides in and out.

There is no exhaust hanger on my 2018. The pipe is just hanging. I intend to have one added when NIRVC fixes all the niggling things we've found.

On mine the pipe does not pivot. It moves with the generator. The hanger is mounted to the back of the generator.

Easily, That is what I have done for the time being. It also has to angle out a few inches from where it mounts to the back of the generator. My official Onan replacement should arrive in a day or two. It is so cold here that my lash-up job (which is pretty solid) will have to do for now.

Mine was mounted on the back of the generator. The threaded mounting holes should already be there on yours,

Won't work without modification on mine. Needs to be twised 90 degrees and bent out a few inches (I fabricated an extension).

Ah, OK - I'll have to get farther under and look.

I just replaced my generator exhaust pipe with a new stainless steel pipe. I used a heavy duty hanger from Summit Racing.
I drilled out the top rivet and ran a bolt through the hole into the generator side mounting rail. The rubber portion is made from conveyor belt and it works much better than the original.

On our last coach we had issues with this, so I added a second hangar.
