Optional Exterior Freezer

Just curious if this freezer gets much use for those of you who have it? We are inclined to not adding it for the additional storage space. We will not be full timers and thought the residential fridge could probably handle our needs - but we could be missing something.

Depends. Our residential refer has a good size freezer and the DW fills it up. When we travel into areas with specialty meats, cheeses, etc, we use the basement freezer and load it up too.

Ours gets used all the time. Mainly drinks but is also overflow for when the inside refrigerator is full. Since coach is plugged in when at home we never really empty it and just leave it running. Our refrigerator inside is a smaller unit though so we could not use it for drinks also.

We are not full times but use ours all the time. On our travels we pack it full of local goodies wherever we go. Cherries from Michigan, sweet corn in Idaho, butter and cheese in Wisconsin, meat and rise n roll from near the factory etc. had the same concerns but now would not be without it.

We’re FTers and ours is full most of the time. Of late it is full of salmon from last year’s fishing trip to Vancouver Island.

Optional Exterior Freezer

We use ours because we have it. Drinks for when outside (like a garage beer fridge) and then on last day as we start to prepare for departure home, we off load the inside fridge. By moving all we can to external, it makes the unload at home so much easier. Usually don’t have to move slide so we can get to big fridge easily. Necessity, no not really.
Edit: note that we run ours at 35 degrees, not as a freezer

Use it all the time, both as a freezer and a fridge on different occasions of course. Probably be lost without it, as a fridge it is a great convenience for outdoors.

If you travel w/ kids it saves a lot of wear and tear on the door and slows down the constant in and out. We do spend more on bottled water and soft drinks as the "bar" is always open.

We use ours all the time. Fill it with cod, meats, etc when leaving home. Add our salmon as we catch them enroute. Wouldn't want to do without it.

We area Hurricane travelers from FL...we leave in June to return in Oct. Like others we fill the freezer up every year with steaks we can't get in FL. Our beef is swamp cows making the steaks are terrible. Now we bring back even more with the larger freezers Fresh albacore tune and Salmon from CA, cheeses from WI and other cheese factories. Fresh picked wild blackberries from OR. Not to mention the cold beer while working on the MH, We have had a basement freezer before manufactures started installing them back in 2002 and have had one ever since.

it also goes back to resale.. two coaches side by side one has it, one does not.. which one sells quicker. I had the same reservations when ordered our Anthem with it. Will I use it ? answer is yes as others have said. we are part timers as well, and we have enough space underneath plus some...with it.
