Paddy O'Shade

Will the Paddy O'Shade or other brand screen slide into the Girard Awning?

Peter,

I do not think so as there is no channel for it to slide into as in a conventional roller tube awning.

The awning lights are where the old style channel would have been. You would need to manufacture some kind of clips to be able to clip one to the Girard awning. The way mine are setup, that would also require a ladder to put a shade up.

I use one on my Girard. If it has the slot in the bottom, most do, just mark the end cap, remove it and file out the space so the slot is accessible. Have used it for years especially in the Keys.

Do you have LED on your Girard? On mine the new LED lights are where the channel use to be.

Peter, I don't doubt that the shade would fit...assume you are looking for a tie down sun shade. Two years ago an approach was posted with pictures and the OP (IQuailHunter) used bungee cords to provide a level of "bounce" for windy conditions. Recommend do a search on it and then contact him. Great guy down Houston way. Doesn't post much anymore, but does read so maybe he'll see this. Or PM him. 2013 Anthem he put it on (before LEDs).

Lots of LED's, but none in my awning slot... I guess this is an either/or choice.

Peter, that would be a good question for one of the sun screen companies. Many MH manufactures are now putting LED lights where the screen tracks use to be. See if any of them have come up with mounts for our type of awnings.

I think I saw an adapter that allowed the single slot to be converted to a dual slot. I just can't remember where I saw it. Maybe at a Camping World. If that is available you could potentially do both the lite and the tie down.
