My Surge guard went out a few months ago for no reason. Called them up and they do not have a replacement policy if over 1 year old. They also wanted a receipt. Mine is just going on two years old. They said can't help you. Then they offered a $240 dollar replacement because I would be a repeat customer.

Rather than buying a new one I just went to PI and purchased theirs. At least it has the Lifetime warranty. So I guess I was the only one that failed. My luck

After a camping trip I had this happen with my permanent mount PI when plugging in at home on a 110 volt 20 amp circuit and when I turned off the PI the coach worked fine so I killed the breaker and turned the PI on and restarted the process, it chattered again with horribly low voltage readings. After further investigation I discovered that we had left the AH electric heating element and many other electrical devices turned on so the PI was working properly. After turning off the load mine was fine. Since then I have wired 240 50 amp at my house so no more issues.

I have heard of several that had to pay the second time for a SurgeGuard. I was advised of this 10 years ago when I purchased my PI. I think it happens more than most people admit.
