Our coach had the same problem. I thought it was poor workmanship.

It is a sign of poor workmanship or poor product. Blaming a subcontractor is an easy thing to do. Has to do with a lack of quality control and oversight by the general contractor.
I would guess that increasing production by Entegra overwhelmed the subcontractor who had to cut corners to meet the quota.

Chuck, this must feel like a never ending climb for you. As sadden as I am to say this, the Entegra forum is sounding a lot like the Tiffin Owners forum. Many compliments to the people in customer service, but way too many issues. I'm more convince then ever to hang on to what I have. Hopefully this will be resolved quickly. Good luck to all.

That's an interesting comment. Funny thing, all of the owners that I know or run into that own a Tiffin product actually say that they kinda knew they were going to have to vacation at Red Bay at sometime during their warranty period or shortly there after. This goes back to my post earlier in this thread. We allow the RV manufactures the luxury of creating service after the sale for items that should NOT happen.....i.e. the stain cabinet thread here and now the paint issue. Buyers expect issues during the warranty period, but some issues should never happen and we let them get away with it.
Haven't been to the Newmar site in awhile. How's the chatter over there with issues on their coaches?? Going to have to do some reading there. If Entegra continues to have these kind of stupid issues it looks like Newmar will be a much better option.

FWIW - my previous coach, made by a company known for superior quality in the industry had more problems in the first month of ownership than my Entegra. Over the course of 3 years I had issues with sloppy molding, peeling / flaking stain on wood trim, cracking clear coat, inadequate caulking, misaligned storage doors with failing latches, stripped or missing screws, failed fridge, washer, stovetop, air conditioner, entry steps, entry step cover, oasis furnace, chassis air leaks rattles & squeaks, cracked porcelain tile from the FWS. And more. Not nearly as tight and well insulated as my Entegra. I live in a windy / dusty environment and would clean the inside - within a week it would be dusty again. I have had my share of nit-noid issues which, so far, have all been rectified by me - with the help of some parts from Entegra CS.
I'm only posting this in hopes of preventing this thread from degenerating into an Entegra-bash.
Comparing Motorhome production / QC to automobiles is like comparing apples to oranges IMO. These coaches are far more complex, far larger and not mass produced in anything like the numbers common in the auto industry. Additionally, motorhome construction does not lend itself to the use of automation & robotics seen in the auto industry. To achieve the same levels of quality & consistency seen in modern cars would be possible, but not at the price point that would allow many of us to own motorhomes.

Well said hawgguy and thank you. I too would like to see this post kept on track. I just asked a question regarding Precision Paint .....not for opinions.

Newmar section is much quieter. It is concerning reading all the post in the entegra forum. Lots of problems

The big difference is that Entegra takes these issues seriously and takes care of them. A friend has a year old King Air and the problems are never ending and they are non responsive. He is extremely frustrated and pissed all the time.
I would not trade him and his customer service for all the tea in china.

From my experience that is extremely unusual. Newmar and entegra both are well known for their exceptional service. The faulty workmanship (peeling paint, cabinets finishes) and faulty components (shade motors) will rear their heads when out of warranty and if it happens will make things not fun.

I also know someone with an Essex that is about 6 months out of warranty and they get no help. I like a 2 year warranty with Entegra behind it. Just saying.

My point exactly!!! We allow the industry to dump crap on us and we except it. I'm not dumping on Entegra, just the industry as a whole. I think I already said that. If we as RV consumers take an "Oh well, that's the way it is" attitude, then nothing will ever happen and we'll still have crappy OR no quality built into these coaches. And yes, I understand how complicated these machines are, but paint and stained cabinets......Come on give me a break!!

I'll jump in here with my experience with Precision Paint. A little over 6yrs. ago we had our 2000 Dutch Star custom painted at their shop in Napanee. All I ever recieve from other owners is how great our coach looks, and how surprised thay are that it's now over 14yrs. old. It could be the time I had it painted. It was when things were pretty slow in the RV industry, and maybe they took a little longer with the prep. You can see a pic of it under my profile.
