Well elegant, it may not be, but it sure as heck looks more elegant than the induction cooktop would look if it had a cracked and shattered black glass top.....

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure , someone said and I'll bet that the replacement would come in at around 2 grand.

Not quite. I had my straight electric stove replaced with Tru-Induction for about a grand installed and that included countertop modification.

Not in my case. The Anthem and Cornerstones are all electric (no Propane on board at all). My understanding is that the Aspire still comes with propane and a gas stove.

We have a cooktop in our coach 24✖️15. I purchased a wooden cutting board on line that was 24✖️18 and my hubby put four rubber feet on the bottom and it's great! The rubber feet keep it from moving when we travel. I can use the board or put my crockpot or electric frying pan on it if need be. Just lean it against the wall when cooking. Also can place hot items from the microwave on it. It's been really helpful and protects the cooktop surface.

Maybe we are different, but it seems like just a matter of time that something falls on this thing and busts the top.

We called True Induction and they have nothing to offer. We assumed they would market some hard plastic or thick cloth type of unit that would exactly snap onto the cooktop and serve to protect from this sort of accident, but they have nothing. They have pads to cushion between pots and the glass surface, that is all.

So, anyone else come up with a great idea on how to deal with this problem waiting to happen?

Gary
Didn't your coach come with one from Entegra? My 19 Anthem did. It's in the small cabinet above the microwave. Or am I missing the point?

And many of us with a 19 do not use that cover. I'm 5'7" and in reasonably good shape and I will not even attempt to put that heavy cover over my head in that cabinet. DH - just over 6' - doesn't even like doing it. One slip and your cooktop is shattered. I bought a large drying mat that covers the cooktop and does double duty. I'll probably end up with one of the wooden covers but I think it will be from Home Depot. I just can't see spending 40-50 extra $$ to get the logo on it.

Check out this Husky 27 in. Hardwood Tool Cabinet Top for Rolling Cabinet at Home Depot. It fits our 2 burner electric induction cooktop on our Winnebago Tour perfectly. We got some spray adhesive and put rubber drawer and shelf liner on the bottom. It hasn't slid off yet. Here is the link to it --> https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-27...0001/203949843

X2.

In our case, I simply attached 6 very large clear rubber drawer bumpers to the bottom and it lifts the wood enough to clear the cooktop. When not in use it slides nicely in between the couch and the kitchen base cabinet.
