Purchasing DISH HD recievers from Winegard

Need to prepare for setting up our HD TV reception when we get our MH out of storage. Planning on purchasing our receivers and service via Winegard. I had talked to Dish directly and after I convinced them it was a motorhome installation that I wanted to do myself they did not want to send me the equipment. They told me to contact a local retailer to buy and install the equipment. Then when I was ready I could call them back to start the service. When I called the local retailer to inquire about buying the equipment, they would sell me the equipment but would not allow me to install the receivers myself. They wanted to do it and initiate the service to "to make sure it worked". However they would not connect it to the Winegard dome but to an external dish on a tripod. Babbled something about the FCC. Thought that was a little ridiculous. That's when I checked the Winegard site and found that they sell the receivers and will set up the service for you if you want. The prices look good and no pressure. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, just looking for any insight that might be out there before I do.

I bought mine on Ebay, a 211k for $98 new in the box. If Winegard is close to that, go for it. I see CW is also selling the 211z for $99. now.

Also, you might want to check solidsignal.com. They also have great customer support in case you have questions.

Thanks for the responses. Placed my order with Winegard. Got the 211z(s) for $75 each and a HD dish on a tripod with a case for $200. I'm good.

When you work with DISH help desk, ask for the RV specialists. They may hesitate, but they do have this second level help, and those folks know their RV hook up business and troubleshooting.
