Question - Aspire Fuel Tank Capacity

I have recently started to look at the Entegra Aspire specifications and noticed that they have a 100 gal fuel tank.

On the average how many miles do you travel before risking uncovering the pickups for the generator and chassis heat and therefore need to fill the tank?

Thanks for any comment you may have.

I have a 2011 and Ave 7.5mpg so I fill after about 650. Generator stops at 1/4 tank, but I don't go that low. So 500 miles is a safe bet.

Remember the Aspire has LPG Aqua Hot not deisel. I've had ours down to 1/8 of a tank and the generator hasn't stopped but our fuel Guage is also supper pessimistic. It's a 100 gallon tank and the most I've ever put in was 75. At 8 mpg I'm comfortable with 500 miles.

Gas tank size and approx mileage.

I have an 07 29 ft Gulf Stream Ultra 6280 with a E450 diesel engine (Ford) I just purchased and can't find how large the tank is. If anyone his an idea of its size and what type of mileage i will get I would really appricate it.

I agree with TerryO. I have had the same results on my 13.

I can say that it is difficult, or slow, if you try to fill your tank full. The diesel foams more the faster the pump, and getting 85 gallons in the tank is probably where it cuts off, and after a few extra attempts to put more in, it may be at 88 gallons. I was at Buccees in San Antonio and decided I was going to fill it up no matter how long it took, and after about 15 minutes of stop and go, the fuel was at the top, and would not "burp" any more. Made a big difference in how far I could go before the next re-fill, about 100 miles. Wish it was easier to fill the tank full.

Thanks everybody for your advise that Aspire owners are experiencing approximately 500-600 miles range before topping up the fuel tank.

TerryO:

Now that you mention it, I do recall reading that the heating system was LPG fired rather than using diesel fuel. I suppose it is used a further separation between the Aspire and the other Entegra trim lines. I was used to reading about diesel fired systems and I simply forgot about the LPG use when I prepared my initial question.

Sometimes removing the cap on the other side helps, but have someone watching when getting close to full so you don't push fuel out that side. Listening works the best, that will bleed the air off the top.

I had a Travel Supreme, the earlier version of the Aspire, and 600 miles max was my comfort range. My average MPG was 7.3 and never pushed it for a fuel stop. Checking fuel prices in the next state is a big help to fuel earlier or later. I use flying J's web site to check the next states fuel price.

I would check/have the fuel fill hoses checked out on each side. My Phaeton had this type of issues (along with a bunch of other Tiffin owners...). Turned out the hose had a strange bend/length. For me, all they had to do was loosen the clamps, and rotate the hose so the vent worked correctly. After my fix I never had another problem. Some people actually had to have their hose shortened some.

Worth checking that out...

Thanks Chuck and Greg - I will see if I can see anything regarding the hoses (if visible), and will try filling and
opening the other side. Sure is nice when the tank is full and the gauge moves slower toward empty - makes it seem like better mileage

Another thing I have noticed; I use the air level when I pull into the fuel island and it seems to make it easier to fill to capacity.

Of course on the Aspire I don't have air leveling but it absolutely makes a difference if you can fill from the high side if the site is not level. If the passenger side is higher than the drivers side use the slave pump. I haven't done it yet but even throwing one from jack down would help.
