Questions for Entegra Owners

We are very seriously considering the purchase of a new 2014 Entegra Anthem (DEQ). We have a few questions for other owners:
1. We currently tow a full size pick-up along with 2 Harley's (one on a lift and one in the pick-up). Anyone with comments on pulling power of the 450 - say going up a mountain? We currently have a Cummins 525ISX so are concerned we might be significantly stepping down.
2) Comments on the "Select Comfort Bed"? We currently have a "Sleep number bed" and have a LOT of issues with it. When going to high elevations it over-fills to the point of being like a brick. Overtime the seals have gone (again and again) due to dryness which causes the bed to constantly loose air. Set it at night and looses air overnight. A real pain. Not sure if another air mattress makes sense in a RV. Comments??
3) Is it possible to easily make the bed? Our current motorhome layout provides lots of room for walking around the bed on both sides and the mattress is not tight to the wall. This layout looks like it might be difficult to do.
4) Any issues with the L-shaped couch that slides out ? Have seen one in a dealership that was broken.
Any comments in general would be appreciated.

1. We have an Aspire DEQ, and tow a Ford Flex. Our normal summer relocation is to north Idaho from southern Arizona. Have had no power issues. Occasionally on a high pass we cannot maintain 60 MPH, but have never over heated and always pass the semis.
2. We have had no issues with the bed however part of DW's preflight check list is to deflate the bed (especially if elevation changes are upcoming).
3. Making the bed is not easy (even though I don't do it). Bedside tables are too tight to the mattress for easy tucking. There is plenty of walking room on either side of the bed however. Don't know if this will be true on the Anthem.
4. Sliding couch has worked as advertised so far.

Hope this helps. Our rig has been in the shop a lot since September (when we picked it up), but we are still happy we chose Entegra.

We've been in our 2013 Anthem DEQ or 3.5 months and love it...you'll be very pleased if you looking for a floor plan with this type of entertainment center living area. To answer your questions, IMHO:

1) We pull a F-150 with a long bed, specifically to haul a Harley Ultra Classic. We use a Big Boy ramp which we also haul in back. Total weight with the bike, ramp and other stuff: about 7500 lbs (we use a roadmaster Blackhawk II toe bar). I don't know your engine, but we've pulled this system with the 450 with no issues in the mountains in NM. It also pulls long grades well, using economy mode rarely shifts out of 5th gear (6th being the road gear). Biggest issue is we see a drop of about .5 to .75 MPG when pulling the F-150 with bike on board. I don't know your engine, but weight and the Anthem's torque and HP should not be a problem.
2) The Select Comfort states clearly, and we we're told to deflate to "10%" when driving in changing elevations. I do 55-65 and we forgot going into NM. The bed got pretty "hard". Reality is we were lucky that we didn't develop a leak. Now deflate on departure some, depending on the elevations we'll be driving.
3) Making the bed. On the rear side, you are standing on an 8 inch higher platform. so you have to bend over a bit. Room on the forward side on the floor to reach to do the top of bed. The mattress slides back and forward about 1.5 inches allowing you to tuck the sheet and overs from each side as you make.
4) We basically leave the L shaped couch in and when slides are out, I move the Euro-recliner to the space where the couch would come out. That's just my personal preference. I use footstool to prop feet up as I'm too long for recliners on the chair or couch. Spouse prefers swinging the passenger lounge around and the Boston owns the couch.

Bottom line, love the coach, love the customer service. As with all new coaches, we have a few things we're working, but fit and finish combined with amenities, customer service, and warrantee say this coach is a best buy at the price point...and we looked at a lot.

As to beds, you might even find yourself doing some things different when you get out there full timing

IMHO, this bed is the easiest to make of the five coaches we've owned over the years. To change the sheets it helps to pull the mattress a foot or so toward the end of the bed so you don't have to reach so far up around the night stands.
