The one complaint I have heard on sound bars, And I do not know if it applies to the Boise is that sometimes the audio is delayed.. It takes time to encode/decode it and this causes about a bit of a delay in the sound. Many find this objectionable... There is a cure,, In a properly integrated system they can fix it..

Naw..I make way too many mistakes...also tend to take folks on too much sometimes on other threads, and I think I'm being monitored for JMHOing
And you don't know how much fun retiring can be until you do it. Can I get an AMEN on that!

This is the second time I've heard this term 'forced option', and I'm curious. How is that different from 'standard equipment'?

Well, we just accidentally figured out out to get our 2013 generation surround sound system to work with the rest of our entertainment system -- after 7 months. Not sure how we got there.
Unfortunately, after visiting and getting punch list stuff done at Middlebury, we no longer have our nag on the overhead and the inside DVD no longer plays on the outside TV. Also managed to lose the connectivity between the DVD remote and the DVD.
Of course this would be simple to look up in the owner's manuals --- if there was a single manual that showed how this all hooks together....hint hint hint for the third or fourth time ---Customer Service.

Not sure what you are referring to below. Please explain.
Amen to the request for better documentation. This is sorely needed.

Well, we'd never got surround sound with our TV (satellite, over the air, or cable) other than with DVD...in other words, only the TV speakers.
Last night while trying to get the DVD working on the outside TV...a little happy hour movie time with "Casablanca", which we failed, when I came back in, the salon TV was on a setting(scroll through the options with the left button on the DVD to "D. IN" and suddenly, we had surround sound in the salon. Don't know how DW got there.
I haven't heard anyone comment on this, and we'd just assumed that surround sound only applied to the movies on the DVD where it worked automatically and fine. Who would have thought that you would have to have the DVD on and that setting on to get surround sound in these other mediums. Guess I should have read the manual [note sarcasm]!

Corey, not sure what you are saying. As mentioned earlier, somehow last night we lost connectivity between the DVD remote. We have "D. IN" on the front of a turned on DVD that I turned on by button on the front of the DVD.
Are you then referring to the TV remote to find the "...inputs for TV surround..."?

Yes..on the big remote, hit the DVD button and then you scroll through the inputs. D in is for the tv surround.

Our dealer showed us this. Your dealer should have showed you. BUT it should also be documented.
