Rand McNally Update?
When I start my nav system, I get..."The current database is over 1 year old. There may be a new map database available." The "Dock" sez that my device is up to date (and I recently updated the sim card). I have sent this to RM as feedback, and all I got was the automatic response which appears to be all there is. Anyone have the same, and anyone have any ideas?

Stew had the same thing with my Classic just before leaving for Perry. I had to put the sims card in the computer first, then launch the update program. It did find new updates and loaded them. Putting the card in after launching the program it said I was up to date. Doesn't make sense, but it had to be in the right order on mine.

I hope I am not hijacking this thread.......but on my Aspire how do I go about updating the GPS......On my Tiffen I had a Rand RVgps Portable and then just used the docking on the desktop computer........do I need a laptop to do it in the coach??? Thanks gentlemen.......remove me from the thread if this is not the proper place to discuss......I will open a new thread after some more searching.

You will need a computer with and SD card reader. The card is located in a heard to get to place on the 18's Doing a search will bring up a post with a photo of the location and a neat extender not to having to fight with the SD card again.

OK, here's the answer. On my RM Dock, upper right corner, there is a "View Subscriptions" button. I discovered that I was not subscribed to Life Time Maps. Set that up and downloaded ALL the updates (4500MB) and now I'm good. Don't remember doing that on the '13 or the '15, so maybe it was done for me on those. I did not get this info from RM. Up to now, they have not responded to my plea.
