Recall

Got an email today from Joyce Skinner (customer service) informing me that we will be getting a recall notice on our rig relating to it being so nose heavy. I don't have the specifics yet, but I think there will be replacement of the front tires and or wheels. Don't know if any other models/years are involved. We have a 2013 Aspire DEQ with IFS. More to come as I get it.

Just checked the NHTSA.DOT.GOV site for the recall. The only thing related to tires for the 2013 Aspire is Campaign 13V013000, incorrect tire certification label. This recall, however, pertains to the size of the tires on the rear axles. According to the notice, the recall is expected to begin this month. Didn't see any notices about front axles or tires. Maybe its a new campaign....

From the tone of her email, I don't think the recall is "on the street" yet. I had been complaining to the company (and Spartan) about the nose heaviness, so I think she just wanted to give me a heads up.

Recall

My question is what is the fix? It appears the recall is about the tire labels being wrong. So are the stock tires adequate? Which is wrong the labeling or the tires? Are the front axle/tire combos overloaded? I hope the decision by Entegra to place Goodyear G670s as stock on the Aspires vs the Michelins was based on a proper loading analysis. A lot of the questions I am hearing are from those who bought the IFS version of the Aspire so I wonder if the hard axle version I bought is okay or not.

I have an upcoming appointment to get my coach tire/axles weighed and I'm going to be really looking at the numbers. If the tire/axle combos are wrong I plan on making a lot of noise in Middlebury, IN.

Just to clarify, the NHTSA Campaign relates to an issue with the pressure on the sticker for the rear tires. The issue discussed by the OP pertains to the front tires.

Label recall

I recognize the recall is about labeling....I just hope it is that simple and does not indicate something else that was improper.

I noticed that a few days after we picked up our coach.

We have 295's all around, yet the label states we have 275s on all 6 rear tires..

I have seen some earlier 2013s with 295s in the front and 275's on the rear 6

Seems they just never updated their label

Today I was advised that for my rig (and apparently it is a very few), the front tires and wheels are to be changed. 295 tires go to 315 and wheels going to 8.25HD.
