Recommendations for CGs near Middlebury

I searched the dang forum. I can't find the previous 20 times people have asked.

I have a factory PDI visit July 5-10. This requires traveling during the July 4th weekend which I will dread. I normally hunker down somewhere for that whole 4 day weekend period. I'm looking for CGs not too far from Entegra the days of the July 4th weekend. I will need to relocate to the Entegra plant on the 5th of July. I've heard about Shipshewana and we plan on visiting that area on day trips while they work on the Anthem. How about Elkhart or South Bend area. I'm looking for a nice place for 2-3-4 July if I can find one. Any ideas? I think we will coming up from Louisville. I know a previous thread described some bad roads. I am going from FLA thru Chattanooga then ??????

Shipshewana South is about the nicest RV park in the area and only 6 miles for the factory. All nice large pull through sites. Fun area to stay in as well.

We live in Indiana between Indpls and Kokomo right on US 31.This spring when we returned home from Fl we came up thru S.Carolina,TN,and KY into Cincinnati and then north to I-70 and came in from the East using I-465 to Keystone to US 31.FMCA has a free CG in Cincy.
We refuse to use I-65 as it is probably the worst road in Indiana. They are working on it now and I have been hearing some bad stories about traffic jams on I-65 south of Indpls and in Louisville,
Last year we came up thru Alabama on I-65 to Memphis up thru Ill to I-74 and came in from the West.A longer route and Im simplifying it because I don't always use Interstates but you get my drift---we avoid I-65.And we are never in a hurry!
The western route also avoids any mountain driving.
There is a nice KOA on the E side of Indpls that would leave you a couple hours to Elkhart. Im afraid I can't help with any other CG suggestions.

Shipshewana South Campground is always our choice.

You could probably stay at the Entegra customer Service site for free that weekend if you like. They have 50A electric. Water and sewer is not onsite but there is water and a free dump station a few blocks away.

What MRUSA14 said. That way you don't have to move for the start-up of service. They get going pretty early in the morning.

Yep, agree and Entegra will not work on July 3(we have a service appointment that week) so the lot will likely be empty by noon on July 3(as soon as we get around anyway) so if I were you I would plan to be at the Entegra service facility on July 3 and be off the road for the weekend. JMHO 🚌🚓

Dave/Debbie, we are scheduled in Middlebury the same time you are. Staying at Shipshewana, starting on the 2nd, depart for the factory on the 5th.

I'll probably hit Shipshewana on the 2nd, possibly the 3rd. Still have some planning to do around my work. Look forward to linking up at Entegra that week.
