Replacement LED Awning Light Color Off

Just got a replacement rope of led lights from Entegra to replace the front section of the driver side awning lights. The replacement is a white light and even looks yellow at times. It doesn't match the original which is a bluish color. I contacted Girard and they say that is the only replacement they have. Has anyone had any problems with the color matching?

I'm on my third set of replacements and they've changed color everytime. But I've replaced both everytime so it hasn't been an issue.

I also had to replace awning lights on rear awning, when I called Entegra two weeks ago they said they were going to send two sets because the lights will no longer match unless I replace them on each awning. I would call an ask them to send another light kit so everything matches .

I have purchased a few rolls of LED lights for different projects direct from China. I have also noticed a slight color tone difference on different orders of the same lights. It looks like Girard runs into the same situation. Never thought about awning replacements not matching.

Sounds like they went from specifying a cool white to warm white color temperature for those LED's. Have them send you another set for the other awning so they match.

When you look at LED specs color temperature is listed as a value in degrees Kelvin. 2700-3000K or thereabouts is considered warm white. Here's one vendor that does a good job of explaining that.

In addition, as Brobox said a low cost off brand supplier will often have slight variations in color appearance between units even if they are listed with the same color temperature specs. I have even seen different color variations of individual chips within the same reel! Only solution I have found for that is to find a supplier that QC's their inventory and makes sure the specs are consistent - those versions usually cost more.
