Replacing Whirlpool washer 2017 Anthem 44B

after probably 100 A10 errors (only once did we find something in the bottom drain), we have decided to go ahead and replace our washer, a Whirlpool WFC7500VW. Of course it worked fine at our 2 year AIR, but gets a series of these errors every 1-3 months that are quite frustrating.

Based on what I have read I see two options from Whirlpool:
https://www.whirlpool.com/laundry/wa...wfw3090jw.html
and
https://www.whirlpool.com/results.ht...id&clp=wfw5090

In this post:
Whirlpool Washer used in 18ís and 19ís Entegraís
Rorr1821 describes the 2018s and 19s as using a model # WFW3090GW, but I don't see that on Whirlpool's web site. I also don't see the model they recommended to him in this post.

Rollin101 is fan of the 5090 model. I haven't seen whether Rorr1821 has gotten his in (I am sending him a private message) but my key question is below.

Both the 3090 and the 5090 are both 24 inches wide which exactly matches the opening I have to fit the machine in so I may have to remove the side (see 3 pictures below that show the left side of the cabinet) so I am looking for any feedback on how to remove that left side "molding", I can feel several angled in screws but I am thinking it might also be glued.

So looking for feedback on that as well as thoughts on what model replacement will fit, particularly from 44B models, where I assume their space sizes are the same as mine

thanks
Van Sayler

Van, the actual width of the 5090 is 231/2 inches. I have included a couple of pictures and hopefully you can see the door is considerably larger.

We ordered ours from Home Depot. Their delivery people brought the new washer into the mh and was going to install it. I had them set it by the opening and I did the install. They also took the old one, no extra charge for all the above.

No I left the drain as is except on the old washer it had a metal piece up behind the dryer the drain went over. On mine I put that piece just above the standpipe, but since you have to remove the dryer youíll be able to get to yours.

I did install a 90 degree fitting for the water line coming out back of machine so it wouldnít crimp the hose.

Other considerations

My replacement washing machine from Whirlpool is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. It is model number WFW5090JW which is slightly larger than the original.
Those who are considering installing this model you might want to modify the drain as shown in the attached picture. That way there I no chance of interference with the increased depth of the washing machine. Also do not forget to cap off the hot water line. The drain mod only requires cutting the pipe and add a collar ,turn 90 degree and glue.

Also according to the repair people it is important that you have the drain pipe positioned above the drain using the provides plastic holder. Also the pipe should only go down into the drain a short distance. I believe this is discussed in the install instructions.

Model Update on 3090

I original posted that the model being used by Entegra in the 18ís and 19ís was WFW3090GW. However, that model must have a revision because it is now WFW3090JW which can be found on the Whirlpool site.

Looks like the drain for the B floor plan is on the side. The W drain was behind the washer. Guess I miss read your post. Looks like you moved the drain to the side. While mine was tight it did fit without moving the drain.
I think you’ll really like the WFW5090 washer.

Only external dimension differences is the new one is an inch deeper front to rear.

WFW5090JW Install

Rollin101

Did you use reuse the brackets that hold the dryer to the top of the washing machine or did you do something different?

I used the bracket. I put construction glue on the bottom of the bracket with 2 x 4 attached to it. Set in place then screwed the 2 x 4 back in place.

No, thankfully my dryer sits on a shelf about eight inches above the washer. Makes the washer replacement much easier.

I am not going to reuse the "L" bracket that sits on top of the washer, I am going to use a piece of wood across the front like is used on the top. That way it will be easier to remove the next time.....
