RM GPS updates

Some of our RM GPS have 4GB SD cards which are too small to receive updates. RM says minimum size is 8GB. The cards are licensed and serial numbered so you have to get an upgraded card from River Park.

If you have a 4GB card call River Park, (574) 522-7781. They will open a transaction invoice to insure you return the old card and send you a new 8GB card.

Plenty of space on mine but no updates. Odd, my 7720 has map updates. Waiting on reply from Rand Mcnally.

You can have lots of space (I have 500MB) but if it's not an 8GB or larger card RM Dock will not allow updates.

Mine is 8GB with 2.87GB free.

Rich - That's why a 4GB card doesn't work. :-)

Mine is a 4 GB card with less than 200 MB free (I have lots of POIs). Seems like I used to get updates the first time or two I hooked it up - but none recently. But I don't get any error message saying insufficient space.

Bob - You don't get an error message, you just won't be able to update, software or maps or do diagnostics, those options are greyed out on the RM Dock program.

We have a 2015 Anthem that rolled off the line in Jan 15. The SD card holds a microSD 8GB card. It shows no updates available. The card shows 7.4GB, used 4.53GB and 2.87GB free. Dates of the files are all 10/10/2014.
The card lock switch is not set in locked position. Updates?

Loaded my new card today, now I have to learn the new format all over again. It's not really that bad.
