Roof Capacity
We are headed to an event where many people utilize the roof of their coaches as seating.
We have a 2014 Entegra Aspire DEQ. Any thoughts on can we place chairs and sit on the roof? And how many people can we safely sit there? I don't think it will be more than 4 or 5 adults.
Thanks for your insight.
Dawn

You can, and as many as you can fit.. In most cases.. However I would not. Way too much chance of damage to the roof.
NOTE: If you choose to make sure the chairs are designed in such a way they will NOT puncture the roof.. Most will.

I have been to entegra factory and the rep even told me we could have plenty of people on the roof. But as others said, be very careful not to damage roof and have a great lawyer if some drunky falls off :-)

The liability issue of having folks up on the roof it too much for me. I know the roof is strong but the edges are round and the top can get slippery when wet. It's a 12+ fall from the roof. I don't even like to go up on the roof when I'm sober. Allow someone to have a few beers and be up there. What could possibly go wrong?

The problem I would have with chairs on the roof is the fiberglass shell. If it is the wrong type if chair, or someone leans back in the chair and puts all 200+ pound in one small area....can it fracture the fiberglass?

I can recall at least two deaths reported here from roof accidents.

Just my opinion, but bad idea all around unless you have a platform with safety rails installed like many of the NASCAR fans have.

I looked at our fiberglass roof from the ladder and climbed right back down. I just finished replacing the EPDM roof on our 5er and did not have any issues waundering around on it.

The other thing to be concerned about is, if it is warm, the goop covering the various seams gets very soft. You'd hate to have someone scuff it or set a chair on top of it and compromise the seal. JMHO...
I have seen a couple of folks post pictures of a construct of post setups and run a chain or something around the edges to keep folks from getting to close to do something stupid.
