Question RV Insurance Co?

I know this topic has been posted before, so apologies in advance for bringing it up again.

Couple questions for the group, please share whether happy with costs & claim experience:

Anyone have experience with Safeco Insurance (a Liberty Mutual company)?

Anyone have experience with what if any rate improvement is more likely:

a) you call directly to insurance providers
b) you use an Agency (perhaps like FMCA RV Ins group, or similar)?

Thanks to all!

I just switched to them due to a large price increase from nationwide. I purchased my insurance through Overland insurance agency and all they sell is RV insurance.

I have no claims experience as I just switched to them.

I'm a Safeco agent, full timer, in Alaska now, and have Safeco on my own coach.

While I'm a good driver, and don't have any 'claims' experience, at least on the coach, I've used them several times for glass damage repair and replacement. But, admittedly, I'm not sure that claims adjustments and payments differ dramatically between most any company.

For the question of pricing - I think you'll find that many people assume that buying through specialized companies or through groups might give you a better cost, the truth is that no price difference is allowed, regardless. The only difference in using a local 'agency', versus any other option, is what you perceive as experience and 'know-how' in writing specific policy coverage, such as on RVs, and large motorhomes especially. While there are some specialty agencies that handle motorhomes almost exclusively, the policy with Safeco, or any other company, is no different. It can't be, state laws don't allow it. The policy and rate that Safeco submits to your state are the same regardless 'who' sells you the policy.

Has anyone had difficulties or issues with Overland RV Insurance? I got a quote that is extremely low compared to Geico, Good Sams and Nationwide. Any information would be greatly appreciated to help me evaluate this company. John Rist

Overland is the agent, not the insurance company - which company are they quoting?

We have used Ron Jarvie at Overland for several years and been very pleased.

Foremost is the insurer and it is owned by Farmers Insurance. They appear to have a good track record.

Thanks for your reply!

Hartford

We used The Hartford because of our AARP membership. We used it for Windshield replacement for our previous coach and they were fantastic. We had the money in our account before they even had the windshield installed. Now we have it on our Anthem.
