Samsung DVR player wifi dongle
Does anyone know the model of wifi dongle to get the Samsung DVR player in classics on the internet?
I have a wifi game adapter I used to get a Sony TV on the internet but have been told it won't work on our Samsung player.

Vance, I don't believe our Samsung DVD players are smart players. I can play hard drive movies through the USB port and I think music can also be played, but I don't think they are smart players. I have been thinking of changing mine to Samsung Smart DVD player as they are so reasonable at Costco now. I want to see how well the new Dave Bott wifi hub works first.

Mine are DVD/BluRay (not DVR) players. Mine have ethernet ports for network connectivity.
I have my salon DVD/BluRay player networked to my Firefly router (which in turn gets an internet connection from my phone).
With this setup I can use the "smart" features of the DVD/BluRay player to stream Amazon Prime etc.
If there is a USB wifi dongle that the Samsung DVD/BluRay player works with that would be cool and allow me to network the bedroom player.

Chuck,
Not sure what makes them "smart" but mine shows Netflix, VUDU, Pandora, etc. it's just not smart enough to be wifi ready.

I am glad you pointed that out, I will look at mine more closely. I was not aware that they were wifi ready. I think Bob has the right idea.

I'd like to hear that from my wife once in a while
I ordered the linked adapter from Amazon today - should be here early next week for me to try out. Currently I watch tv series & movies streamed on my iPad at night in the bedroom. Will be nice to watch on a real TV.

They are Internet ready, not wifi ready. You have to buy more accessories to get them in wifi.

Wanted to resurrect this one. I bought the Samsung WiFi dongle for $55.
Won't work on my H5100 BluRay/DVD player.
I am sending it back, and will try this WiFi Ethernet Bridge for $25.

Bob, I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks to this post, I am going to upgrade the receiver in the MH with a Wally https://www.amazon.com/Dish-Network-...rds=wally+dish that has several of the wifi type features on the satellite subscription. I looked at my neighbors new Dish setup yesterday and it was impressive. My MH is on DISH like Vance is.
Anxious to hear if you find what will work on the blue ray players.
I found this on Samsung's site saying only their wifi dongle will work. I don't if it is the same on our models....I don't have the model number with me. http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/...lname=BD-P1600

Got the Ethernet Bridge today - Works great! Makes my BuRay/DVD "smart"
25 bucks and easy setup. I paired it with my phone wifi and ran the ethernet cable out the back of the vanity cabinet in the bedroom. Velcro attach behind the speaker (for better reception) = invisible.
Don't bother with the $55 Samsung dongle (which didn't work).

Thanks Bob, I am going up to the MH today and check my Blu Ray model# and instruction book. At that price, it;s worth having just to play with and see if it will work with the Dave Bott wifi system I just installed. Thank you for that update.
