Satellite help

Need help can't get my winegard traveler satellite down. And of course technical support does not work on Sunday. The code I am getting is
EL- Motor Home Failure. If anybody knows how to recalibrate this thing it would be appreciated.

That is the best part of this forum, the search function works 24/7 and never closed on the weekend.

Yeah but kind of slow responses. Sometimes it can take ten minutes to get help here.

Gotta love this place.

Print out instructions and keep near satellite controller.

I think the EL error is more likely to occur if there has been a change in leveling after raising the satellite.

Bob, I believe your instinct is correct. I think the worst condition is having it locate sateiltes while leveling coach. In fact I've made it practice over five years to ensure the dish stays down until I'm leveled.

Use the Green Google Bar at the top of the page. Type in Entegra first then the subject, it's instant.

On top of chronic EL Motor Home Failure messages, we recently had a LNB NO VOLTAGE message.

The Winegard rep. walked me through the diagnosis process. Basically, install a temporary coax between the C terminal in the turret base, and the LNB. If the problem disappears, the mini coax is bad. If not, it's the LNB.

Winegard warranties their unit for 2 years.

They said the mini coax cables go bad fairly often. I bought a spare for $30+shipping.

I described our EL Home issue, and the Rep. stated our controller might need some kind of update, or replacement. She also said if those didn't fix it, the antenna assembly would require replacement.

I hope this helps,

-Matt

When we had our '15 at the factory last October, had that failure. Troops came charging out of the hanger with wrenches in hand. I tell them there is a procedure to get it running. I get the "pat on the head and don't tell us how to do our job old man" from them. Get away from my rig, I'll take care of it. I did, and then it was "can we get a copy of that procedure?"

You may be right - but I still often do it as part of my setup routine.

Level coach, shades down, satellite up, inflate bed, put the rugs on the floor, make the gin & toinc. Though my son has now be trained to do the latter. Still needs practice, not enough gin.

May never know for sure. I figure why take the chance. All it took was a checklist change!

Practice does make perfect!!
