This is my version of the screen door release. I didn’t like the height of the handle coming out with something in your hand so I have installed a screen door handle 18 inch above the regular one on the inside than connect it with a small rod. It’s been working perfectly for two years.

A little off topic, but I see several people added what looks like electrical tape to the striker plate. I assume this is to prevent rattles? Or is there a more profound reason?

Newmar has a screen door release on all coaches. They have had it since at least the 2018 models. Simple and works great.

I got one of these from Camping World last year. Under $5.00 if I remember right. Its a simple device that works as advertised. It does frequently "go out of adjustment", but its a simple matter of moving it back into proper position.

A couple of cheap magnets on the screen door works
My friend was frustrated with keeping the plastic screen door latch adjusted and from constantly breaking. He permanently mounted a couple of weak small magnets, one the door for the screen door to lie up against. Blam! no more adjustments and a little drawer pull on the screen door makes it easy to pop off the main door without having to slide the little plastic cover open. First time I have a latch break, I'm going the magnet route.

I am going to figure this out. Been bugging me for a while. Hope to find a similar handle that will go through the screen door to have a lever on both sides, mount it higher so that it is reachable from the inside of the coach, and connect the new "upper outside" handle to the "existing outside handle" with a small rod, so that when moved, they both move. It cannot be that complicated???
Where can we find a handle only mechanism, that will mount to and through the screen door and have a handle on the inside and outside, that just moves up and down (no latch needed at that position) so that it can be attached to the existing handle that is on the outside of the screen door?

In essence that's what that simple little device I mentioned a few posts above does. Its just a plastic rod about 3 1/2" long and 5/16" in diameter with a flat "handle" on one end. Its mounted in a hole drilled high on the screen door slider through a rubber grommet (part of the kit) and projects on the other side just above the top of the screen door release handle. When the flat end is raised slightly the other end pushes down one the handle, thus unlatching it.
If anyone wants to see this little device, get on Camping World and search for "screen door opener". It works!!!

I happened to email Noell, very quick to reply, I was curious if they would just sell their handle separately. Unfortunately, no. I think $60.00 is a little pricey. My labor rate is a little lower than theirs.
Will have to check out the CW piece.
