Select Comfort/Sleep Number installation

I am installing a Select Comfort / Sleep number bed in my Aspire. For those that already have one. I'd like to know how Entegra routed the air hose, and where they placed the air pump.

It looks like I'll need to drill two holes in the platform, between the piano hinge and the wall. One for each tube. I assume they drilled the holes even with where the tube will connect to the air bladder. Are the holes closer to the hinge to avoid (what feels like) a 1x2 that is against the wall, that that small strip of platform, is screwed into. Or did they just drill through the platform and the wooden support (1x2) underneath it?

It looks like the pump will fit on the floor, on the left side in the slide tube.

I saw an early post about make sure the air tubes and the slide extension do not interfere with one another. Are the air tubes under the slide bar, or over it?

Pictures welcome.

Thanks!

Here's how the tubes and pump are installed in our 2015 42 DLQ Anthem. I presume yours will be very similar. Note that you will need a 120 vac outlet under the bed if one is not already installed.

I installed a Sleep Number in my Newmar. Pump is on floor outside of the bed. Drilled a hole in side of platform, then a small door with piano hinge and hole on platform for hoses. Door was for access.

Here is a photo of my 2013 Aspire showing the location of the pump as it came from the factory. I moved it over to the center section (adjusting the location of the electrical box) so I could use the space it occupied for storage. (If the photo doesn't show click here)

Thanks for the photos!

I'm glad I asked about this installation. I was planning to put the pump on the floor, in the middle, near the outlet.

Thanks again!

You may already know this, but in case not, don't forget to reduce the amount of air in the mattress, if traveling to higher elevations. The mattress will expand the higher in elevation you go. My wife keeps hers at 100, so we are always mindful to check it.

Rusty,

Thanks for the reminder.

I did read that in some of the threads that I found, while searching for information about installations, before posting my question here.

I had a Sleep Number in my Bounder for 11 years, with no problems. I guess I didn't travel far enough in that one. I plan to travel more with the Entegra, so I am glad to know that, before finding out the hard/expensive way.

Learning lots from this group!

Thanks again!

Being high is no problem. Problems happen you set to a high number at low elevation, where the air is denser, then climb to thinner air. Boom.

We have stopped several times in the middle of a steep climb over the continental divide to deflate the air mattress when we forgot to do it that morning.

Thanks for all of the info, pictures, and tips. I got the new mattress installed yesterday. Getting that big Denver mattress out, was fun!
