So what do I have to do to get all incoming water to go through the filter? My next question is, why do some have the box behind the toilet and others are mounted against the wall? Thanks.

I am surprised that the softener did not catch the sediment. I read your post regarding unfiltered water for 2 years. Thanks for sharing what a few small mods can prevent.

I was told by CS that all my water is filtered on our current rig.

I have a mid-2014 and all incoming water is going through the filter. Mine was built Dec. 2013. Any units built after mine are plumbed that all incoming water is filtered.

My coach was built in late December of 2012. As soon as I found out that (in the 2013 model year) only water from the fresh water tank ran thru the filter, I began filtering all water at the hose bib! But there was sufficient goop got through to clog the screen.

While I'm thinking about it there's another element that you should know about. If you connect a new carbon filter to your system, be sure to run freshwater through that filter and dump it out on the ground. There is always some loose carbon that will come shooting out of a new carbon filter. While I don't think that was an element in plugging my screen, that could be a contributing factor if you didn't know about the heavy black discharge from a new carbon filter.

My 13 Aspire was not filtered from the city connection either. I have plumbed in the Dual System, 1 standard filter, 2nd carbon, then to the softener, then to the city in connection. I still get some goop caught in the filter screen at the city in connection? I check the screen every time I recharge the softener, and sometimes it is clear, and sometime goop? I'm not sure where it is coming from?

Dan, If you look at the pics in my first post, you'll see that I have a wooden "cabinet" or box behind my toilet. The lid is put on with silicone, and maybe a couple of pin nails. You have to take that top off to service the inlet screen.

If you don't have that box, then you have to pull the toilet to get to it.
