Share your ownership experience of 2013 Cornerstone

Hi, All,
I just put a deposit on a 2013 Cornerstone on K3 chassis, one owner low miles (less than 30K), kept inside while not in use. I'm excited for the first week of November delivery.

While I have owned several Class A's including a Tiffin Phaeton, Allegro Bus, 05 Essex, 08 Affinity, and 08 Newell, I'm not intimately familiar with the CS.

I would welcome any thoughts/experiences you would share that would be useful for both pre post-delivery and ownership.

Regards to all!

Sounds like a good find. Someone else has already worked out the bugs!

Here's a good search engine link that will give you several evenings worth of reading about any concerns you may have.

Hopefully all the bugs have been dealt with. Our 2014 just cost us over $12,000 in repairs no longer covered under warranty. (Generator, radiator, slide seals, etc.) Miles should not be a concern. Chassis should be good for a lot more miles-500,000+.

Did you buy it recently, or new?

Evidently you can't run that 12.5 generator where there is a speck of dust. And Cummins/Onan was not interested at all to inspect the parts that failed-3 brush blocks, 2 stators and a rotor at one time or another.

That is too bad!
Do you have a lot of hours, or just the environment where you used it?
I have seen the 12.5KW Onans that had over 7.5K hours and was still running strong. That was a good, rather unfortunately expensive, lesson.

Regards,

Regards,
Only dusty conditions were when entering or exiting campgrounds. 700 or so hours. I am convinced that it was defective from the get-go. First problems were at 200 or so hours. Onan just didn't give a rip once we were out of warranty. Just bandaids until out of warranty-then no help.

Did you just trade it, or sold it and bought the DS? I never owned an Entegra, but did own an 05 Essex which I really liked. I'm going to take a look at it next week. I have also arranged to look at an Essex and a 2008 Monaco Signature. Although I have a deposit on the CS, but I may end up with the Essex or the Signature.
I hope you like your DS!

Update

Here is an update to my original post.
I went to look at the 2013 Cornerstone which I had a deposit on.Just prior to my trip, I had a lead from a good friend about a 2008 Signature, original owner, 42K mi in pristine condition. After seeing both, the CS, and the Sig, I opted to go with the Sig. Some of the features that influenced my decision were; the fit and finish, the color of the interior, 600 series Aqua Hot, Vorad, just to name a few. The CS while not a single owner was also in great condition. This actually made it a rather hard decision to make. Here is a photo.

The signature is a great coach pending on what your going to have to pay to get it... the cornerstone is 5 to 6 years newer and that’s big in lots of different departments.. need to hear prices on both coaches to really compare apples to apples..
The signature looks beautiful and I am sure that the inside interior is gorgeous... that old fashioned halogen lighting in those years were
Incredibly beautiful and just sets the most elegant atmosphere.. Jmo
