Sharing a leveling tip

I was asked to share this on the forum from another member.

At Walmart in the RV section are a package of two of these levels for a couple of bucks. The foam tape with them is worthless (too soft). I changed it to the good 3M double side tape, not the foam tape.

Level the MH, I used a 4 ft carpenters level to make sure it was perfectly level front to back, side to side in the center of the MH.

Open the cabinet doors above the drivers seat, front cabinet for side to side level, circuit breaker door for front to back, placing the levels in the center of each cabinet overhead.

When parking after hitting auto level just open the cabinet doors to check if any adjustments are needed. You can watch the bubble while pressing the jack buttons while sitting in the seat and no longer guess if the MH is level or running back to open a bathroom door to see if it stays open. Hope this helps.

I've found on leveling with both my current unit and a previous TT to level the unit by using the oven floor, that way the DW is very happy with nice level cakes, etc, and I get MORE.

There is a problem there......Entegra's don't have ovens.

I agree! No longer have a regular oven, but DW is happiest with the convection oven level, no matter what any doors tell me.
Eat More Cake!
Neat tip, brobox!

When leveling in Walmart parking lots we are reluctant to use the leveling jacks. But we still like it level. I will either look for the high spot or a low spot in the parking lot.

I then turn on the leveling system and either drive over the high spot until the lights are green or do the same over the low area. Low areas can easily be found by looking for a storm sewer grate. If there is rain forecast I avoid the low area.

Since we are only parking overnight we are not overly concerned to have the unit perfectly level.

I use the refrigerator as the reference point for leveling the RV. Then find locations where bubbles will stick and usually upgrade them to automotive body tape.

I use my iPhone for leveling. There is a bubble level app. I place it in the middle if the floor.

That's an expensive level With my luck, I would forget the phone is there, jump out of the chair and step on it. But I did use my phone too on the way home from picking up the MH.
