Slide out extension arms and cold/hot air

I will be in Arizona this winter and spending a bit of time trying some different ideas in the quest to design some kind of insulating barrier for the slide out arms that now use a couple flaps of fabric to block air/bugs from entering the basement on our coaches.....would be great to have sharp minds from the forum to throw out any ideas on this and maybe we could get EC to adapt it to their coaches.......waddaya think???

I bought a large piece of foam on Amazon, then cut into strips and stuffed it into the area between the slide and body to cover the flaps. Not a great solution, but it helps keep some of the cold out. These things are not air tight, so every time the exhaust fans are used it will suck in air from every opening. We spend time in “dairy” country in CA. As such our biggest challenge is keeping the smells out. The foam helps somewhat.
