Slide topper awnings and wind. How much?
Am stopped for the night at a campground as this blizzard rolls through I80 and its windy and forecasted to snow a few inches here in NE. Is it ok to put my slides out in 30-40mph winds? Do I need to bring the slides in. Are those topper awnings able to handle a good wind?

When the wind blows hard we bring in the slides. We are lucky that with our floor plan we can do everything except get to one cabinet.

I'll bring in the living room slides. Am hoping the bedroom slides can be left out since they are much smaller and the heater vent is blocked by the slide as well as the bathroom!

It is not only the wind you need to worry about. If snow and ice accumulate on your slide toppers, you will not be able to close your slides, or you will damage them by attempting to do so. Close everything before you get snow up there.

My "bring in" wind speed is 35 MPH. If it's constant the bedroom slide come in as well. I lost a set of slide toppers on I-80 at Prairie Oasis in NE on my last MH. I learned my lesson there. 
If it's snowing, don't put the slide out at all. More problems than it worth trying to get it off to be able to leave.

Me too 35 to 40 max then the slides go in.

Absolutely nothing there to slow the wind down except cornfields and the corn, if planted, is very low this time of year.

I fought 40 mph gusts and dust storms all day yesterday on I-10 New Mexico / West TX. Coach was detailed in Phoenix - now looks like it was dipped in brown powder.

Had a slide topper on a brand new MH damaged by a sudden wind storm. The topper billowed and actually peeled back some roof covering where it was attached. It was determined to be caused by improper riveting. Rivets not properly expanded.
I now watch billowing and find the Entegra slide tops to be much better than the MH's of the past when it comes to wind. However when the sudden wind gusts do start and I'm worried, I immediately pull in a main slide and the heck with worrying about normal procedure of retracting jacks first.
