Smart TV connection to laptop

Since it is so difficult to reach the HDMI connections on our TVs is there a way to connect laptops to the Smart TV thru WiFi? I have a Hotspot and can connect both the laptop and TV to the hotspot but have not found a way to get the TV to see what is displayed on the laptop. I would like to view pictures that are on the laptop or iPad on the TV.

Yes, right click on the screen, click display settings. click connect to a wireless display. It will search for another display on your network. once it finds your tv clcik it and set it up

Also, a Samsung phone can directly cast to the Samsung TV.
