We are headed to Spartan Academy the second week of July. Does anyone have a suggestion for a campground near Charlotte, MI to stay at a day or two before our Spartan appointment?

There are several within an hour or two ... check Allstays. But, question ... why did you put this as a "thumbs down" post? Spartan is fantastic....

Hi Kathleen,

I can't offer this as a "recommendation" because we haven't stayed there, yet. We're attending the Spartan Academy June 4 - 8 and then heading west for the summer. We need to have a windshield replaced near Elkhart the week following the Spartan Academy and looked for someplace sort of between Charlotte and Elkhart.

We found Sunny Brook RV Resort (https://www.sunnybrookrvresort.com/w...ll//index.html) near South Haven, MI and have made reservations there for three nights.

It's about 90 miles west of Charlotte, near the shores of Lake Michigan.

Hey, it looks good on their website!

We stayed in South Shipshewana campground near Middlebury. Took a tour of the Entegra factory before driving about 90 miles to Spartan the next day. Nice campground.

19 mi south of Charlotte is a Camp Resort called Camp Turkeyville. Nice big spots on a giant grassy property. Nice fire pits and places for dogs. Of course they have a restaurant serving turkey of every style. Very quiet. If you are looking for restaurants, night life, or shopping....this ain’t it. Rural CG but very nice.

Stu, I've been thinking it would be fun to save photos from campground web sites, take our own photos showing what the campground actually looks like, and compile an album with the photos of each campground on opposing pages.

I'm shocked!

If I read between the lines of your post, it seems that you're suggesting that there's some level of deception going on with online advertising.

DW has suggested that the same is true with online dating services and that I'd be very disappointed if I ever went snooping around one of those sites. And, I could end up disappointed and broke!

Additionally, Chuck has hinted that people actually borrow photos of for sale (and pristine) coaches to use on ads for their "beaters".

I guess the one nice thing about owning an Entegra, no matter the appearance of a campground, as soon as you drop the night shades, it looks pretty good.

We went to Sunny Brook last year. It is nice, but a 45 ft MH will just fit. Your toad will probably need to be in the over flow parking area. Ours did ... But, it is very pretty.

We have an appointment at Spartan for October. We are planning on staying a couple of days prior at Hidden Ridge RV Resort in Hopkins, Michigan. Never stayed there before, so can't recommend ... but reviews are good. It is about 50 miles from Charlotte, MI

Why not just go on to Spartan early. They have extra spaces and the cost is $0.00. The spots are plenty big enough. They have 50 amp but you have to get your water up near one of the buildings and to dump you have to go to the fairgrounds so go full of water and empty of [emoji90] and grey water.

If you and a few more days, go to Traverse Bay RV Resort. Very nice area to spend several days - we went there before our Spartan appointment - loved it. About 200 miles North of Charlotte.
