DavidH2 made a good point, check your tire dates. I was at a truck stop one time and they tried to sell me brand new 12 year old tires still on the rack.

The surge/coolant tank is a Spartan part. If your tank shows any sign of rust, have it swapped out.

Spartan, less then 50k mile chassis
We have 48K miles on our 2014 Mountain Master chassis and currently have 4 major issues:
Had auto air repaired 3 times in the past 9 months, still can't hold a charge. 1st time was by spartan
The coolant radiator has a leak in the lower right-hand corner
The DEF gauge drops to zero with the treat of derating whle the tank is full. this has happened 3 times in the past 12 days. Shake a few cables and get it going again.
Hydraulic cooling radiator leaks, may be the clamp on the hose leading to it. Th clamp is beyond reach and the clamp is facing up against the body. May have to fabricate a tool to tighten the clamp. Meanwhile, the radiator is half blocked with gunk.
Have owned 3 gas chassis, Ford GMC and Dodge, plus 3 diesel chassis: Freightliner, Beaver Roadmaster M and this dog of a Spartan.
Prior to the latest issues we have had maybe 20+ problems that required parts to repair. It's truly unfortunite they do not have quality control on the chassis assembly, to say nothing of purchasing quality parts from their vendors.
Don't really mean to vent, just buyer beware

Sounds like you have a lemon! Have you ever contacted Spartan direct or have you been having your service and repair work done by a dealer?
