Speedco

I have always done the majority of my maintenance. Mainly because I know it's done right and the satisfaction of getting my hands dirty and having familiarity with the workings of the machine. That being said my youngest son has had some serious health issues which puts us in the hospital on average of 30 to 40 hours every week. My extra time has suddenly become very precious, causing everything other than family to take a back seat.

So I am curious what everyone's opinion is on speedco? Do you feel that the service is trustworthy and what generally do you have done and general cost?

Thanks in advance, and I can't wait for my son to win his battle so I can take him on more adventures!

I have done all my own maintenance for 14 years. Due to the number of posts raving about Speedco, I gave them a try. I watched all of the work from the shop floor.....I won't be changing my own oil anymore I can't buy the oil and filters for what they charge and they also change them. Done deal for me. I'll still do the pre-trip lube, but Speedco has all the dirty work from now on.

Sorry to hear about your Son, family comes first.

I use Speedco, I carry an extra set of filters which I rotate. I change the oil and fuel filters together with a lube. The Cornerstone does cost a bit more than the Aspire did. They will change your def filter for you if you bring one along. I just waited till the DEF was low and got rid of what was left in the tank. Refilled it with jugs and was on my way.

I used Speedco on my previous DP primarily to see how they did. I was certainly satisfied with the experience. They did engine oil and filter, fuel filter (I provided the fuel filter since they did not have mine at the time), chassis lube, check front hub lube levels, and they had a special deal on differential oil change so I had them do that. Plus they did on-site engine oil analysis.

I may start using them again. Will they do an oil/filter change on the generator if you have the filter? Also, do they do Allison transmission service?

Jamie, we send our prayers to you and your family. The coach will be just fine until he's out of the woods.

We are over in Spring if you need anything.

Please don't hesitate,

I have alternated between Speedco and Cummins, simply because there is always a few recalls or TSBs that can be done when brought into Cummins. No other reason.

Especially for 5000 mile U-joint lube spec on your Spartan Chassis. SpeedCo is an obvious winner!

Thanks all! I'll give them a shot since I'm coming up on my one year anniversary of the purchase.

Matt,

I am touched and honored to have those prayers!! Cancer is a scary scary word to put in the same sentence with a child. You are right about the coach being fine till he is better. The whole reason for the purchase was to build family memories while they are young. We have grown very close taking those summer vacations/Rv trips over the years. The next adventure will be all the sweeter because it means my little man is winning the fight.
