Squeaky door hinge?
Anyone have a good solution for a squeaky door hinge? My bathroom door squeaks like crazy. I have tried silicone spray, light oil, but nothing lasts very long. Thanks for any tips.

Mine too, WD 40 did the trick when Silicone didn't work. Worked the door back and forth several times and so far it's working. The last MH had a stubborn hinge that did the same thing. I removed the hinge pin and smoothed it out with emery cloth and that solved the problem.

I use WD-40 and it seems to last forever.

I used WD-40 on my sqweaky bathroom hinges. Put some in each hinge and worked the door back and forth several times. No more sqweaks.

It is possible that the door is hung improperly. During our one year warranty trip to the factory, they rehung our door and it corrected pins working up about an inch, squeaks as well as popping open during travel. It is perfect now and I cannot see any visible repairs.

A couple of our hinges were mis-aligned as well and had to be moved slightly to get rid of a squeak. Disconnect the middle two hinges (unscrew the door jamb side) and leave the other two connected. With the hinge pins installed in the middle two hinges fold the hinges flat to where they would be screwed on to the frame and see how they line up with the present holes.

Since WD-40 can be messy when spraying I use KY gel. No spray no mess!

WD40 does works as does a little vaseline if you pull the pin. No more noises.

We have had trouble with the front bath door on our 44B not staying closed while traveling. On my list for next week at Middlebury.

The top hinge on the front bathroom door on our 44B squeaked.
Pulled the pin out and it had a lot of stain or varnish on it. Sanded it down,
sprayed it with silicone and reinstalled. Solved our problem, no more squeak.

Had the same thing on our bathroom door piano hinge. WD-40 didn't last. Once I sprayed it with JB-80 it worked forever. WD-40 cleans rust well but evaporates. Justice Bros JB-80 leave a lubricant film that doesn't evaporate. I buy it by the case for use in my business.

Jerry
Had the same problem with my 44B mid bath door popping open. Tried adjusting the latch, messing with hinges. I called Customer Service and explained the problem. PJ (I think) went down to the production area and talked to the carpentry guys. They suggested get dealer to remove the flat trim that is inside the door frame against the door and move it 1/8 inch or so away from the door. It worked. No problem since. My guess is the door stop trim was installed at the factory at too close of a distance and changes in humidity made it swell. Every time the RV flexed a little it would push against the door and pop it open. Call CS and compare notes. The trim fix is easy. An experienced guy can do it quickly and reuse the old piece.
