I believe Butte 64 is spot on. The DEF fluid tank and the DEF are heated by engine coolant. In fact the DEF lines get heat from the engine coolant. If the DEF fluid does not reach the prescribed temp it will throw a code. Like DEF fluid temp not in range.
Had this occur on a ISC and put us limp mode, ended up have it towed. This was on a Freightliner M2.
If you ever notice or hear a pumping sound at the rear of the coach after you shut the engine down that is DEF lines being purged.
The voltage drop you see is the intake grid heater working like Butte64 said.

I usually feel it's safe to bring up the RPMs after you see the oil pressure has come up to operating range, but all of this depends on temp. As some say, your results may vary.[emoji4]

I think my 2016 Aspire on Spartan MM/K2-450 came with a 1000W block heater and that my AQ 400-LP does not have an engine heater loop. Please correct me if wrong.

My question is: if I plug in the electric block heater while connected to shore power tonight and get it started tomorrow AM @ 24*F, do I need to unplug the block heater before driving?
Looking forward to seeing many of you in warmer weather in Tampa. THANKS!

YES, you want to unplug the block heater after starting. No need for it after engine starts and you don't want the electric draw assuming the outlet is on the inverter.

See you in Tampa but be prepared as forecast is for cool temps !

Ed, you and Brian are both correct. The block heater isn’t inverted (at least on our coach).

I typically leave it plugged in until I do my last minute check under the hood, then pull the plug and fire it up.

Drive safe.

If you are not running the generator while driving just leave it plugged in.

You may find a circuit breaker in your panel dedicated to it and can just shut it off there.

But you have to reel in your shoreline cord and may as well unplug then,.
