Storage Draw within Entry Steps

Our 2017 Anthem came with a draw within the entry steps. The draw now opens and closes as we drive. We end up putting something in front of the draw to keep it from opening and closing while we drive. The continuos opening and closing has the draw banging into the entry door and then back into the step.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what have you done to resolve it?
I've talked with CS about it and I'm waiting to hear from them, but figured somebody out there must have had this problem and have resolved it. Would appreciate any input to this...

Thanks....

Paul, we have the same issue with the drawer, you just reminded me to add it to our list.

I'll let you know if I can get to it.

You will! It took awhile for this to come out. We've got 15K on the coach and I think it started about 2K ago. It's very annoying. We've been traveling in areas where there hasn't been any Home Depot's or Lowes so finding hardware has been difficult.

What kind of latch does the drawer have? Could it be the same as this one? http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/how-...-a-345320.html

as a temporary measure, lay a sock over the top and it will wedge it closed until you can stop by walmart or somewhere and get a magnetic catch...

Look at the type of latch you have on the large drawer above the dish washer. They are made by southern latch (maybe SouthCo Corp) and are available in X number of pounds of force to get the drawer to release. They are very effective.

My drawer has double magnets, like the ones for the return filters, in four places across the back of the drawer and has a metal strip fastened on the next step runner for the magnets to catch when drawer is closed. The magnets seem to work well and shouldn't be any different later on. If your drawer fastenes the same way you might check and make sure all the magnets are there or add more.

Nothing on mine! Guess the guy who installs them was out sick that day.

Could you please snap a picture and post? Going to have to call CS again and have them send out whatever is needed.

Thanks...

Kind of like the photo in the linked post. Might be the same installer. The magnet latches are only a couple of dollars at one of the box stores. I replaces the 1/2 bath door spear latches with magnetic.
