Strange front day shade issue

Several days ago while sitting in traffic on I 75 south going into Florida our front day shades started acting up. At first it was just the passenger side front shade. It would go up but would no longer go down. We tried using all three of the available switches wall passenger side and driver side and none had any effect all switches made them go up but none would make them go down. After about five minutes or so the passenger side front shade started working again no problems. Then the driver side toll shade started acting up same scenario as the passenger side front shade would go up but not come down. As things are now the drivers front day shade will go up and down just like it always did the entry door passenger shade will go up and down as it always did the passenger front will not go down it is all the way up the drivers toll window shade is all the way up and will not go down. I contacted customer service and they suggested the 12 V reset which I had already done but I did again that did not fix anything they're suggesting I can look behind the panel over the entryway door there might be a loose connection haven't done that yet. I am asking if anybody else has any suggestions or any troubleshooting tricks that I could try before I have to start contemplating replacing shade motors-aargh… Thanks for any help you can give me troubleshooting this issue…

That sort of shade behavior is exactly what I experienced with several shades about a week before they simply stopped working..... only up and never down or only down and never up.

You could call customer service back and they should have a file which contains all of your covered warranty repairs and replacements in it. My wondering would be what shade motors they have already replaced or not replaced. The vintage of your coach (same as mine) was a hot time for yellow motors to have been installed and those have a failure rate which is very high. I have had to replace all my front cockpit motors as all have failed at one time or another. If those motors have not been replaced, they probably need to be replaced with new RED motors, which have a very low failure rate. If they have not been replaced already, and you are clearly within your warranty period, that should be a simple replacement issue.

Greg, that was the same way mine acted when the motor quit. If it is all of them at once, I would also look for that loose connection if the 12v power kill didn't work.

Sure signs of imminent shade motor failure. You don't need to look for loose connections if the shade moves one direction because the same wires are used for both directions and is reversed at the controller.

Been there done that... your shade motors are on there way out... I think Entegra is giving a extra 1 year on the replacement motors as that's what I was told at my 2 year pdi..

When my shades stopped working in my 2015 Anthem, they replaced the shade controller, and then one motor.

Mine did same thing prior to not working at all. Called CS and they sent me replacement motors. No problems switching them out. No issues since replacing.
