Summit Products-Any Problems?
I am considering having the 8" trim package put on our coach and am wondering from those of you who have it installed if you have experienced any issues. My main concern is if road grime or water collect behind the trim and the coach causing rust or a cleaning hassle.
Thanks for your response in advance

Actually we had the same thoughts and it has been easier to manage than the paint was...Love it and it is a breeze to maintain. Don't hesitate go for it!

I installed Summit's Premier armor on my County Coach myself. After the trim pieces were on and the adhesive had cured (it is SikaFlex), I put a bead of clear ProFlex caulk around the top and side edges to seal them. I used tape to create a clean and sharp edge.
Sometime later we were at Summit Products in Altoona to get some more bling for the coach and their installer commented on the excellent way whomever installed my trim had sealed around the edges. I told him it was me and thanked him for the compliment.

I have the chrome step covers and found they scratch from being stepped on with dirty shoes.

Yes, the mirror polished stainless steel step covers do get fine scratches in them. I occasionally polish them and they shine but you really cannot remove those scratches.

I have been looking at these. Do you mind sharing price range for the 8" trim package?

In 2013 when we got our coach, an installing dealer in NC quoted about $3K for package. I ended up getting the 6" premier armor and installing myself. IIRC, my trim plus the step cover was about $1,500.
Kelley Johnson at Summit can fix you up with a quote plus names of recommended installers. It is not hard to install but it is time consuming to do it right.

Make sure your compartment doors are in perfect alignment before you do anything!

I am looking at the 8" as well and have been quoted $3495 including installation at their factory.

Use a chalk line to ensure the tops of the panels are straight.
$3500 is a really gr8 price. Most places will double the kit price for installation.
Caulking is really good, especially if you put the plastic bead @ the wheel wells.
