Tag Dump
I am new to RVing. My first time to drive an Rzv was when we picked up our gasser last March. Thursday will be the first time for me to drive a tag axle and DP so I have lots of questions. The dealer does a pretty good orientation but I am sure I will have more questions once I leave there.
My current obsession is "Tag Dump" and when to use it. I know what it does and why, the question is when? Do you dump it when you turn a 90 degree corner such as from a stop sign U-turns, say out of parking? Do you have to hold the button down or is it on-off? (it appeared like it has to be held on which doesn't make sense because that would require one-handed steering).

You might do a search on that topic. It's been discussed a lot and everyone has an opinion. I have never used it. I don't think it even works above like 5mph. It will take a while to dump and I usually have more important things to worry about like don't hit anything!! The only downside I've found is that if you are on concrete, it leaves some pretty obvious rubber marks but I've left those backing up into spots where the tag dump operates automatically.

I use it if I have to make a very tight turn. Otherwise, you don't need it.

I am new to tag axles, too. Last week at my PDI, the tech told me that if you shift the transmission to reverse, the air will automatically dump. If you are in drive, and want the tag air to dump you have to hold the button down. When you let up on the button, the tag will return to the normal position while in drive.

Mine works the same way. Additionally my tag will not dump, in drive, if I am over 8mph

Big Mike at the Spartan school told us we don't need to use it unless we're making a very tight turn at slow speed and even then it's optional. It's not needed for the normal right and left turns when driving, so we never really use it very often.

If I'm making a real tight slow turn on my pavement I always dump the tag, if I'm on your pavement I guess it's optional. LOL
Seriously, in RV parks or parking lots you can really do some damage to pavement on 100+ degree days.

We're always careful about blacktop turns and it seems that campgrounds are where we dump tag the most.
